See , this is why I let you cyber-smash.Season 2 can't get here quick enough.
It's about the Money.Honestly, they are foolish for choosing Orlando.
Go take over a midwestern college town or something where the virus isn’t much of a threat.
I totally agree with you.You keep saying this.
What are serious consequences in your mind? A player dying?
None of the players are going to die.
But a 70 year old coach?
Like Mecca said, what if a superstar tests positive and his team gets eliminated because of it. That is a serious consequence to me.
Or like I said last week. This season is not a foregone conclusion. If a rash of players get infected when they resume play, don’t think for a second that Silver won’t call it.
I don’t know how many infections that will take, surely more than 1 or 2. But say 10 players get infected the first week. That could be season over.
Or, they can opt out.I posted earlier, those coaches can wear masks and since the arenas will be empty, they can sit a couple of rows behind the bench. Heck, some already do.
Disney has the facilities, lodging , and of course the affiliation with ABC, ESPN, etc..
Along with all of that, comes higher risk to exposure.
I understand the mindset to finish the season, but in reality it is an experiment that can go either way.
IF, it goes the wrong way, how do they move forward with next season?
I don't think it's really going to be in a bubble. The park is opening up to guest July 11th.I don't think the venue choice matters nearly as much as you do as long as it's the "bubble" that it sounds like it's supposed to be.
As for players "sneaking out" or whatever. I agree that it's certainly possible. 20 something year old males aren't always known for doing the smart thing.
But I'm not going to assume that they automatically will, especially since I'm sure the situation has been and will continue to be drummed into their heads.
That's also where veterans would need to step up and make sure they understand.
I'm not sure that people realize Disney World will be OPEN to the public during this time frame.I agree it is far more likely than not and I really hope they can pull it off.
I also strongly disagree with the venue choice.
As to your last point, we shall see. There is a lot of external pressure and everybody wants sports to resume. They have to try at least until it is proven to not be safe. At this current moment, it appears that it is.
I'm not sure that people realize Disney World will be OPEN to the public during this time frame.
That alone makes this whole thing retarded.
That was the entire premise of my statement. If you aren't really isolating the players, staff, hotel folks, what's the point?
Nor the "reopen the economy" ones. But since it's all just overblown by the media, who cares?I didn't see any social distancing at the protest demonstrations.
It's about the Money.
ain't everything...?

The Coronavirus pandemic has been overblown by the media.
According to the CDC both masks and social distancing are required.Social distancing OR masks are needed. Most protesters have been wearing masks. Even some of the looters...although that may have different reasoning behind it...
I was just expressing an opinion but you consider it baiting. Did I accuse you of baiting? If you don't like my comments then just put me on ignore. Problem solved.Take your baiting BS to the political threads.
