While I am deeply saddened by the death of George Lloyd, this rioting is an absolute travesty.

Look, the asshole who killed him is fucked. A white cop going to prison for killing a black guy, while on duty? The guy is going to get shanked before lunchtime on his first day. And none of us are going to lose a seconds sleep over it.

But rioting? Looting? Come on. That's not the answer.

Of course it isn't. But some jerks use any excuse to get free stuff and break things. Sometimes when their team wins a championship.

I could understand protesting if the MPD didn't act quickly on this. But they did. They fired all 4 officers. The guy who had his knee on Mr. Floyd's neck has been arrested and it's looking like there may be some more arrests.

Not sure what more people want.

Other than free tv's that is.

Firing the officers wasnt the only answer. All 4 should be in jail currently but only 1 was arrested. As for the looting, not a fan of it because we are doing it in our neighborhoods at places where our young people likely had jobs at.

I'm all for rioting. We are fed up at this point. We've done the peaceful protests thing for too long without any good coming out of it. Quit looting your own neighborhoods but set more police precincts on fire

The 1 arrest was obvious. There are likely more coming, but since those officers didn't have their knees on his neck, it'll ultimately be up to the DA if their negligence rises to the level of an actual crime.

At the least, the one who actually had his knee on Mr. Floyd's neck is likely going to jail for a long time and none of the 4 will ever work in law enforcement again. I doubt they could get jobs working security at a Wal-Mart.

As for rioting, we'll have to disagree on that one. Going and attacking police departments and officers that had nothing to do with it will only make matter worse.

You know 2020 sucks when we're closing in on half way through the year and the best thing that's happened is a gay, mullet wearing, redneck with a tiger zoo trying to kill a crazy cat lady who also has a tiger zoo and probably fed her 1st husband to those tigers.

It's not only that. They're looting mom-and-pop stores and other small businesses that have already been negatively affected by COVID-19 and now are completely screwed.

I also heard they burned down banks, office buildings and several other unrelated retailers. A lot of people who were lucky to keep their job even after the virus are now on the unemployment line again.

Sure, and the emotion is understandable, but rioting doesn't make ANYTHING better and makes many people's lives worse that had nothing to do with it
