I am not the smartest person in the world but dealing with a player that is playing under their contract and has years left to be paid the incentive if we trade him would either the gaining team would take on his contract and we get little in return OR we eat most of the contract and we get a solid prospect along with them receiving the player?

Mlb..trade rumars..to trade haniger or seager..the mariners
Would need to be blown away
By an offer

I would agree with that..the couple biggest things they need..??
#1 One more starter for rotation
That..is big ..i like julio teheran..
(Atlanta)
A one or two year contract..would be good..

#2More starters at AAA.. not as
Big..
Jedi has been good at finding guys..to fit..here..i like tiejuan walker.. former mariner
(Like an eovaldi deal..with tampa)
Walker would fit ..nicely.

If everyone..remembers..eovaldi
Was traded for jalen beeks..LHP

Largly considerd.the best minor
League pitcher..at the time

That is..a high upside..of a tiejuan walker..or eovaldi type deals
Teheran..would be the same
In trades..at the deadline

In case..people have not noticed
The mariners
.are still..in that.. mode..that is
Where they are..at this time

Rotation..rotation..and..ahh..
Yeah
Rotation..

According to MLB.com's Greg Johns, the Mariners are "definitely interested" in a reunion with Taijuan Walker.
Walker became a free agent earlier this month after being non-tendered by the Diamondbacks. He sat out most of the 2019 season while rehabbing from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, logging only one (scoreless) relief appearance for Arizona. The right-hander was a first-round pick of the Mariners back in 2010 and spent the first four years of his major league career in Seattle. He'd make sense as an inexpensive low-risk gamble for the rebuilding M's in 2020.

I would be totally fine on this one. I think it could be a win win move.....

Yep!

And the staff being changed out sends a loud and clear message that they better stick to their guns if he can't pull of 50-60 wins this year.

I really think blaming the manager in baseball when things go wrong is almost pointless. The GM is the one thats alot more important. However I just struggle to figure what he does well or reasons to keep him. His in game managing leaves a lot to be desired and hasn't seemed to improve or change in 4 years.
How does he manage a clubhouse? Well all I have to really go on for that is how the clubhouse reacted in 2017 when they were 20+ games over .500 and encountered their first rough patch of the year. They folded faster then the blink of an eye and it ended in a fist fight in the club house. But i guess they found a different scapegoat for that. Regardless 4 years in, its time contending or not

There's only so many scapegoats you can have
No new information here. Most of us already know Servais should never have been made a manager. No matter how 2020 goes, I just don't see Dip cutting the cord with Scott. The only way I can see that happen is if ownership tells Dip it either you "can" Servais or we'll take another look at that extension contract we gave you. Oh well, time will tell but I'm sure not going to hold my breath or expect much for this coming season.

I tend to agree with managers unless they lose the clubhouse, besides that we don’t know if Servais is just a puppet for Jerry since Scott had no qualifications to earn the job. I’d like to see a forced change by ownership just to shoot across the bow of Jerry and tell him the Mariners and Mariners fans aren’t to be treating as a science experiment. But I’d prefer a younger manager that can relate to the plethora of young talent that is going to be on the team for opening day.

There is prob.still a good market
For rich hill..

But here is an idea..
Mariners sign rich hill..
And could trade him at the deadline..or just keep him
And let him help
Young..guys..as vet..leadership
He has been..to the seires

If..they trade him at the deadline
He goes back..to the playoffs
Good all around
Actually..cubs may..be good for
Hill..lol
