yeah thats fine with me. Could be a stopgap for a year or two until one of the younger guys is ready

Any starting pitching acquired
At this time
,....................................
May have to do without a no trade clause...
......................................
But pinada is like a Rhed santana (yankees)

A nathan eavoldi.
Type..comming off injury..
Would be a good accusation
At this time...

But cant think of any
Right now..

Pass for me. Big hall or keep him and this to me is not a big hall. Losing Gordon's salary for one year isn't a huge savings especially for a team not looking to add much this year.

I agree. They'd be risking a lot on gambling that heavily that Aaron Cavile is the real deal. He shot through the minors and had a great year in 2019, but I don't think he's any sure thing. If he had the pedigree of a top prospect I might feel differently, but that deal appears to me to be selling low. I would definitely be in favor with most of the deals Lookout Landing proposed though from what I recall from that article.

Civale could be the bottom of the rotation, Morgan hasn't seen the bigs and could fall into the class of 2021.

I don't know it seems to be a winner for the Indians..

Agreed. I don't know much about Civale other than his major and minor league stats, but I don't think it's guaranteed that he continues to pitch like that with a larger sample size.

Interesting read here for those of you who have The Athletic:

A Mitch Haniger trade: Here's a proposal that fits needs of...

If you don't or don't want to read the entire article - it's a back and forth between the Mariners Athletic writer and the Indians writer - the proposal would be the following:

Mariners send:
- Mitch Haniger
- Dee Gordon
- Ray Kerr
- Cash considerations

Mariners receive:
- Aaron Civale
- Eli Morgan
- Yu Chang

I like the proposals proposed by Lookout Landing more, but I think this is more realistic considering this article was the equivalent of two beat writers playing GM and trying to do what's best for the teams they write for.

I think the mariners could do...much better than this...
May as well..keep him..
For that ..haul..

If i am giving away..primo..
I want primo
In return..
Or
At least somthing that is needed.
Haniger is middle of the order starting ..staring....rf..
And
Really dont want to trade him
At least until
Rodriguez gets close

2 RHPrs
Julio terehan....atlanta..no draft pick comp..sense they.did not pick up his option
Has been the opening day starter..6 years strait..for atlanta

Michael pineda.RHp..minnesota
Good middle of order guy

Both guys would work...for now.

Terehan...would fit the best..
Going forward.

Rich hill.LHP...dodgers..no offer either
Although he is 40 years old
He would fit for mariners..
And
That is a good reason why he would fit..40 years old

Expireince

Gonzales...LHP
Dunn...RHP
Kikuchi/shefield

2 or 3 more would still be needed..but they would be

If they grabbed him and threw some cash at a tier 2 starter that they could have as the ace, the rotation could eat some inng's depending Marco and Kick the cotchie mind sets are coming out of spring ball.

Back fill the 5th spot with one of the younger arms.

Can't really decide if this is a really smart move or a really dumb move?? Evan White is rumored to be a stellar 1st baseman but to be totally honest, I just don't have the confidence in Jerry's (the organization's) ability to make good and necessary decisions for this franchise. Fingers crossed though. :noidea:

To me this is nothing more than JeDi going all in on his plan. Whether he gives Evan this deal or not there’s only one way he lasts beyond this young core and that’s if they win. This isn’t a massive deal so if he becomes what some have projected it’s smart on JeDi to get ahead of the dealings with him.

You know what if they feel that confident and can lock him down for longer term fantastic!

so does this mean he’s breaking camp with the big club? I mean do you send a guy down to AAA that you just extended?

well atleast we wont have to worry about paying him until he is damn near 30 so long term this is smart if they really feel he will be on the team for that long or if he is average that contract is trade friendly

Love this move. Gives the kid some comfort and gives M's great control. $24M at the top end is notringand with 3 club options they aren't even tied to that. Plus, it eliminates his player clock meaning they can bring him up at any point and not have to worry about his super 2 status. I will give this one to DIPoto.
