Spectrum wont add the NHL Center ice package for me because my plan was grandfathered in from Time Warner. They say unless i upgrade my plan they cant add anything to my account. The Spectrum plan that they are offering which is similar to mine is an extra $17 dollars per month. So to add the center ice package and spend the $144 to buy it i also have to spend an extra $17 per month just to see the Flyers games. Im thinking of not getting it because between the games against all the area teams i can see which is 13 and the NBCSN games which is 15 more that's a total of 28 games. Any thoughts?

There was a quote from AV this morning that basically said "Stewart's been a professional, but we don't have the space for him'. So it looks like he's probably not going to get a contract, certainly not any time soon. Meltzer has been talking the past few days about just leaving Stewart on his PTO indefinitely. He doesn't count against the cap and can't' play in games, but he could still practice with the team and hang around in case of emergency and they need to sign him to a real contract.

Flyers also didn't put anyone on waivers today. So it seems likely that the Flyers will send Myers to the AHL (at least on paper) to get under the cap. Unless they go the LTIR route with Patrick and Welinski.

They really only need to get to:

1. Whenever Pitlick can play. AV seems to be targeting the first home game (10/9). Then Pitlick can dress and they can send Twarynski down.

2. Whenever Welinski is healthy, so they can send him down.

Then there really isn't the cap pressure that there is right now.
And yet another young NHL defenseman Having his growth stunted by trading two picks for Braun. He and his 3.8 million salary is just the gift that keeps on giving.

NHL.tv is definitely the cheaper option if you want to pay for something to get the games. $145 bucks for every game, or $116 for every Flyers game. That's been my preferred method the past few years. Can watch on mobile devices too, so you can watch games anywhere.

If Braun is taking Hagg's spot in the lineup, i'm cool with it and the trade. That flips if he's taking Myers' spot in the lineup though. I'm much higher on Myers, even though he's had a tough preseason.

I still look at it more as a Hagg/Myers battle though. The idea was to have Niskanen, Braun, Myers down the right side. Myers just hasn't beaten Hagg out (apparently) for a spot in the lineup, like he was supposed to.

That all being said, it's all short term I expect. AV said today he'd prefer to carry 8 dmen as the default.

So, Farabee actually started with Hayes/Voracek. JvR-Laughton-Lindblom, I think.

Oh yikes. It's 3-0 Lausanne. Saw the first one, but had to work on some stuff and missed the next 2.

That's not ideal.

4-0. Elliot in for Hart.

Maybe this is a bit of a wake up call for them right before the season starts?

Fall 4-3. But the silver lining is they battled back and made it a game. Not the worst thing in the world to face some adversity in the preseason. My guess is trying to come back in this one felt much different than a normal preseason game where you wouldn't really care.

Still, not good to lose to a team in the 5th or 6th best league in the world.

Say what we will, but that couldn't have been good moral wise.

So I actually got to see a replay of this farce of a game. My main concerns was our defense is SLOW and our 2nd line is SLOW. Where is the balance?

So, obviously it's concerning to lose to a Swiss team. And speed is a concern with at least the 2nd line. However, that's going to get exposed more in a game like yesterday's where they're playing on the big ice. International ice is 14 feet wider.

I'm not going to hit the panic button until we start seeing how the regular season games start to go. But the preseason has made me a little more nervous.

Every player on our team has played on international ice plenty of time and know how to play on bigger ice. This shouldn't be used as an excuse.
