Says a lot that you're already creaming your pants while simultaneously having a teenage tit fit right now because no one's taking the Suns seriously in the preseason. Late response... but I check this place weekly now and just saw this.

Was the firing strange or unexpected? No. Was the timing of it strange or unexpected? YES. 9 days until the season starts, you kidding me?!

Sarver wanted a star caliber player this offseason, McDonough failed to deliver and also didn't address the PG situation, so there's speculation that they had a disagreement on a particular move that might've been made. I think overall it was a long time coming, but just very odd timing. James Jones being hired by Sarver in a position they created to fit him in as an "apprentice" to McDonough seemed like the writing on the wall a year and a half ago. It isn't official, but I think James Jones will be named GM and this offseason was just a learning course for him, which is a shit thing to do to McD... but he's had his chance and he failed. I could see him becoming Hinkie 2.0. Collected Ayton, Booker, Jackson, Bridges, good cap space and draft picks... but won't get to see his vision all the way through.
