If Kyrie Irving gets traded to a team where he's able to put up 35 points per game, I give him an outside shot.

But will that team win more than 35 games?

If he is scoring that much, I seriously doubt it.

LeBron- if Kyrie is traded before the season starts LeBron will have the inside track.

in order for Kyrie to be anything more than top 5 in the MVP hes gonna have to learn how to play defense...

offensively he might be the best player in the game besides prob durant...clutch wise he might be the best player in teh game....but he only plays one half of the court. He can be all nba without playing defense- but its awful hard to be MVP as a 1 way player.

He might be the 2nd best scorer. There are certainly better offensive players. LeBron is one of them. KD, Curry, Harden are better offensive players too. And there are probably more.

Also, Harden would have won MVP if not for Westbrook's superlative season and Nash won two without playing a lick of defense. Isaiah Thomas finished 5th last year while being the worst defender in the league. While I agree Kyrie's defense doesn't help him, it won't be why he will not be a serious MVP contender.
