You're right and it' absolutely ridiculous. The money they spent on McClain, McGee and Pryor is the money we could have given Garçon and then some.

I mentioned this on the Wapo page and I will say it here as well.

Its tragically comical that a franchise that has made an art form of overpaying free agents from out side, has also made a habit of lowballing its own free agents.

And a fan base that has given racious cheer to signings of guys like Haynesworth, Archuletta and more recently Pryor.. has now in this instance found it of utmost importance to be cap frugal... but only in the instance of signing our own... because it would prevent us from once again chasing free agents from other teams.

Me, you, and maybe one other person were screaming to bring back PG, DJ, and just add to the D. Nope. Sure PG got hurt and DJ had a down year.

Does DJ have a down year with Kirk, and not Fitz and Winston? PG was balling before he went down. What was Pryor doing before he went down?

It will probably take Jay to close a LTD with Kirk. I don't think there is anything Bruce could say to KurT at this point.

Funny thing is Mike Shanahan would be the perfect hire to be the GM and Pres of football opps. Kirk would sign immediately, he has a better track record as far as talent evaluation in D.C. than even Scot had during his tenure here.....save for the Beck/Grossman thing.

Jay would never do it. Dan's too proud, and it makes too much sense.

Shark stated earlier with some restructuring we can. 54 under the cap. 10 for the draft. 34 for Kirk. That leaves 10. Re-sign Brown, Foster, Long, Galette or Murphy, Grant,
Maybe we cut McGee and get another 3.

So without LTD or at least TT I'm not sure how we are a player in FA. I know I don't want to be the guy to ask some of our vets and better players to push money back so Kirk can get his 34 and then bounce 16 games later.

Maybe my math is way off.

I'm LTD or I shake Kirk's hand and say we fucked this up, I don' blame you but we have 52 other guys to take care of and we can't rent you for one year to the tune of 34 million.

If I have 100 dollars, right now I'd put 45 on TT, 45 on tag and trade, and 10 on LTD.

Why do we need to be players in FA?

Nothing to brag about but this year marks the 1st time since 1999-2002 that the Redskins have gone three consecutive years without double digit losses.

Stop winning Redskins I have been saying since week 6 but noooo do you listen you keep winning and losing out on draft selections. If KC leaves the only QB in the draft I see maybe making it to us with pick #14-17 is Baker Mayfield and he is a risky pick. Even if KC leaves I say we draft someone in the secondary.

Darwin James
Denzel Ward
Donte Jackson
or take a stud DT Vita Vea

The whole draft basically revolves around KC decision. He has got the whole world in his hands. My question is this if we match any contract he receives this off season does he still leave? IMO I think "IF" we want him we have to pay him like Albert Haynesworth type money where we WAAAAY over pay him that the other teams laugh at us and say you can have him. Is he a franchise type QB = yes, is he a top 10 = yes, is he worth $34million = hell NO and I don't even think Brady currently would be worth $34mill. To many people to sign and QB is worth paying extra but not at the expense of not having a O-line, or receivers to throw to or a D that gives up so many points you are playing from behind every series.

Looking at the schedule for next week, we are most likely locked in at 15 win or lose.

My question is this if we match any contract he receives this off season does he still leave?

The situation where we are able to "match" an offer basically returns Kirk to this organization. Although, he can make it clear that he doesn't want to return, under that scenario the team has the right to keep him, an unhappy employee, or let him go, with compensation of 2 first round draft picks. This is the Non-exclusive tag.

The non exclusive tag is the best option we can match the other teams offer or we get 2 1st round picks

First I've heard of this guy was on this board. Seen him mocked from 1st to 4th round. It will be interesting to see his 40 time. Dude can go.

I did notice he seemed a little top heavy, but paid it no mind when I saw him breaking off kick returns. Probably could drop a little body fat, no big deal.
