Awesome...my mistake. Russell and Randle for Kuzma. Solid.

Randle left as a free agent. He wanted out (likely due to getting benched by Walton mid-season). The trade was Mozgov/Russell for Lopez/Kuzma.

Aware...talking about the net result where we are now.

The Great Magic couldn't talk Randle into staying?

Net result is Russell for Kuzma and cap space. Randle was unfortunate, but wanted out (and will be a free agent again this summer when he opts out of his $9M option).

Magic was still working other angles, like Kawhi. Randle signed July 2nd, Kawhi was traded July 18th.

Some might say this is the beginning of the end as father time is undefeated. This is how it begins for great players closer to the end of their careers than to the beginning of them. Realistically his camp knows this too which is why they're taking extra time to heal.

Now I'm not saying he will never be great again. But I'm almost sure we'll see another injury of some sort.

All speculation. You really don't even know how serious this injury is. We have been hearing father time for years now. Give it a rest. This is a minor injury and honestly this long period of time waiting seems to now have more to with other things than the injury itself. Young players improving, the head coach speculation, the AD trade. I can almost guarantee he is fully healed already but why risk anything?

One minor injury and you can guarantee another one is coming lolzzz you can't make this shit up. You can only HOPE.

Right...he let a very good player go for a maybe he never got. If the Cavs did that the media would roast them. And rightfully so.

And would think Randle is exactly what LA needs right now.

Just some guy named Lebron. So, not much. lol
could have kept either or both and still had enough to get Lebron on a max deal.

Of course, might have lost some from among KCP, Rondo, McGee and Lance. Oh, the humanity.

trust me- at the time DJ was the biggest proponent of Russell's actions being "no big deal" and "water under the bridge".

I do have to say--- i thought he could have used a change of scenery- esp. with the losing the Lakers had, and the perception that they were clueless organization wise which turned out to be true with wittle Jimmy Buss and his staff.

Russell got to a good organization with good coaching and good structure and has flourished--- all of those things were lacking in LA when he was there. Good for the Buckeye!

To be fair, the reports coming out at the time were that they had moved past it. He had been playing more 2 guard and was really starting show a lot of what he's doing now.

Then, after he was traded, it came out that things weren't okay after all. They hadn't moved past it, they had just kind of buried it.

you, too? Could have kept one or both and still gotten that Lebron fellow.

Must have been really tough for Magic to lure him, too.

Lebron - "I want to play in LA"
Magic - "I am the President in LA. Want to come to the Lakers?"

lol and you think NOLA want KCP in a trade for AD?? hahahaha

And so what if he puts out a list. That don't mean crap to the team he has just snubbed by announcing publically he wants a break up. lol

He's an expiring contract, nothing more.

If AD says he's only signing with the Lakers, those offers from everyone else will weaken. I can wait another season for AD if he's coming.

Randle def. would be great for them--- athletic tough PF that can rebound.

At the start of the season i said it and its no less true now--- the Lakers need shooting and rebounding.
