Awesome...my mistake. Russell and Randle for Kuzma. Solid.
Randle left as a free agent. He wanted out (likely due to getting benched by Walton mid-season). The trade was Mozgov/Russell for Lopez/Kuzma.

That's what I was getting at, that it would probably be 3. Money matches with KCP now; in the summer the Lakers have KCP's cap space to absorb the difference.

The Great Magic couldn't talk Randle into staying?
If I'm not mistaken they have nothing to show for Russell and Randle, correct?

Net result is Russell for Kuzma and cap space. Randle was unfortunate, but wanted out (and will be a free agent again this summer when he opts out of his $9M option).
Some might say this is the beginning of the end as father time is undefeated. This is how it begins for great players closer to the end of their careers than to the beginning of them. Realistically his camp knows this too which is why they're taking extra time to heal.
Now I'm not saying he will never be great again. But I'm almost sure we'll see another injury of some sort.
lol and you think NOLA want KCP in a trade for AD?? hahahahaThat's what I was getting at, that it would probably be 3. Money matches with KCP now; in the summer the Lakers have KCP's cap space to absorb the difference.

Magic was still working other angles, like Kawhi. Randle signed July 2nd, Kawhi was traded July 18th.
Right...he let a very good player go for a maybe he never got. If the Cavs did that the media would roast them. And rightfully so.Magic was still working other angles, like Kawhi. Randle signed July 2nd, Kawhi was traded July 18th.
Just some guy named Lebron. So, not much. lol
could have kept either or both and still had enough to get Lebron on a max deal.Just some guy named Lebron. So, not much. lol
trust me- at the time DJ was the biggest proponent of Russell's actions being "no big deal" and "water under the bridge".
I do have to say--- i thought he could have used a change of scenery- esp. with the losing the Lakers had, and the perception that they were clueless organization wise which turned out to be true with wittle Jimmy Buss and his staff.
Russell got to a good organization with good coaching and good structure and has flourished--- all of those things were lacking in LA when he was there. Good for the Buckeye!
you, too? Could have kept one or both and still gotten that Lebron fellow.

And so what if he puts out a list. That don't mean crap to the team he has just snubbed by announcing publically he wants a break up. lol
Randle def. would be great for them--- athletic tough PF that can rebound.Right...he let a very good player go for a maybe he never got. If the Cavs did that the media would roast them. And rightfully so.
And would think Randle is exactly what LA needs right now.
