theres not a coach in the NBA who would rather play boston in a playoff series if they had Irving over Hayward.

if you asked every single coach/gm/commentator--- who would yo urather play? Boston with Kyrie, or Boston with Hayward- and the other guy sits out--- every single one of them would say Kyrie to sit out so fast it would make your head spin.

Kyrie is one of a very very small group of NBA players that can win a playoff a game for you by himself. There might be like 5-6 others in the entire league.

Seth Curry has attempted 131 3’s and was invited to the 3pt contest.

Craig Hodges got invited 1 year when he wasn't even on a roster because the league wanted him to defend his title. Bertans isn't a name brand player.

The all star game is in Curry's home town and his brother is the best shooter of all time. The sibling thing makes a fun story that will get people to watch.

Aside from maybe Bertans' mother and a handful of die hard Spur fans, he isn't bringing any viewership.

It's still dumb though. They gave a stupid reason and there's guys like Dirk who got invited who doesn't shoot nearly as many threes. I understand they're big names, but it's a 3-point shootout. Not a popularity contest. Which unfortunately, that's what the NBA has become over the years. Bertans deserves and had earned his way into it. He leads the league in 3pt FG% for crying out loud. At least before last night he did .Haven't checked if he still does .

I see your point but I'm with @ManuForever here. Don't give Bertans that bs excuse if you're going to invite someone who attempted 50 less 3s.

Being honest would hurt their rep. I just find it absurd the league leader in 3-POINT FG% doesn't get an invite to the 3-POINT SHOOTOUT.

I might be being irrational over something silly. I just have seen Bertans grow his game over the years and to see him not get any recognition or a nod for it in this season, his best season by far, is frustrating.

Dirk is also in the competition so basically 2 legit spots are gone thanks to Seth and Dirk. Should have just increased the 3 pt roster this year
