does any Lakers fans that has their balls intact want to make a bet on the Lakers/Pacers game tonight? From what I found the point spread is 4.5......ill even take off a half point.I'll do it if you do a McGee bet....

so whay you are trying to use that as cover to avoid making a bet on the Pacers/Lakers?You have some nerve to talk about balls when you shit-talked McGee and then refused to do a bet on him a handful of games into the season......
HUrts my heart to think about the Caris setback.he is so good
this draft was unreal at the very top.
Bamba, Jackson Jr., Doncic, Ayton, all could be high level stars if you ask me.
Young, Bagley, Sexton, Bridges, Bridges, Carter Jr., SGA, should all be very good players.
This last draft was the deepst draft in the lotto that we have seen in ages.
Next years draft is supposed to be very shallow.
ID say last years draft was an 11-12 player draft with 5-6 truly elite guys....this years draft is probably like a 5-6 player draft- with 3 truly elite guys
though some years there are even less....the Simmons/Ingram 2016 draft is aging very poorly. Id say the only very good player in that draft thus far is Simmons- and he has taken a step back from what previously looked like a top 5 player ceiling.
if you re-drafted that draft what does it look like? Simmons still 1, what Jamal Murray 2? Jaylen Brown 3? Hield 4? Ingram 5? Dejounte Murray 6? LaVert 7? Sabonis 8?
Compare that to Doncic, JJJ, Ayton, Bamba, Trae Young, Bagley, Sexton, Carter Jr., Bridges, Bridges etc.....
even the 2017 draft is head and shoulders above 2016....
Say you go Mitchell, Tatum, Markenen, Fox, Isaac, DSJ, Kuzma......and a nice 2nd tier of Ball, OG, Hart, Collins, Bam, Monk
After the Korver deal the Cavs have some really interesting cap flexibility for the trade deadline.
Why?
-Jr Smith's contract is grand-fathered into the old CBA- though only 3.5M is guaranteed next year, the entire amount can be used for matching purposes in the offseason. This makes hte contract an asset and explains why he has simply not been bought out.
-The same with George Hill- who has a 20M dollar salary next year but only 1M is guaranteed. He could be dealt in much the same way.
-Burks is an 11M expiring contract.
The Cavs have said that they are willing to take back bad-long term salary to help teams open up cap space. A team like the Knicks could trade the Cavs Tim Hardaway and his terrible long term contract for an expiring deal. Or the Nets a similar deal with Crabbe that would open up an additional 19M in cap space for the summer. Even a team like the Heat could get the CAvs to take a Johnson or Whiteside or Waiters for an expiring contract--- any number of teams could open up a large chunk of cap space by engaging in a deal like this.
The Cavs have expressed a willingness to go this route and take back some bad money for picks/young players. I hope they execute at least 1 trade like that before the deadline and maybe even another one in the offseason to ramp up the speed of the rebuild.
yah...i mean if the Cavs went out and signed like Kemba or Butler where does that even get them at this point? So you would rather they help other bottom-feeder franchises sign free agents than the Cavs do that themselves? What young players could the Cavs possibly get from the Nets or Knicks?
the Cavs would prob ask for picks more than young players--- but with the Knicks i would have interest in Knox without a doubt....with the Nets they have Jaret Allen, LeVert, Dinwiddie- all who look to have solid futures and look like good players. So you would rather they help other bottom-feeder franchises sign free agents than the Cavs do that themselves? The Nets may make the playoffs- so say they have like the 16th pick in the draft or something

Its certainly possible. The Knicks arent giving up their lotto pick- but maybe they give up Knox. There are plenty of other teams trying to open up cap room as well that could give up young players and or picks to get off of the right contracts.
The CAvs did this last time too they rebuilt--- they got a lotto pick to take Baron Davis' bad contract from the Clippers, they got a 1st rounder from Memphis to take Ellington and Speights contract, they got a 1st rounder and a pick swap from the Lakers for 3 months of Ramon Sessions and taking back Luke Waltons horrendous contract. Its a way for a team that wants to rev. up their rebuild to do it more quickly.
Probably not but they might. Especially if Levert comes back.
who the fuck knows--- if you would have asked me if the Clippers would give up their lotto pick to get rid of Baron DAvis- my intiial reaction would have been HELL NO- but GMs make PLENTY of bad tradesIf the Knicks were to trade Knox just to get rid of Hardaway they should fire their front office, again. No way the Nets are going to give up assets to get rid of Crabbe. First off, they have plenty of cap space. Secondly, they brought in Crabbe to GET assets, why would they move him now and lose assets?
You high as a kite if you think the Knicks will trade Knox for cap space. He was the youngest player drafted this year. Giving up on him now would be beyond idiotic, even for the Knicks.
It can happen but most teams aren't going to give up existing quality assets to do it. They aren't going to give up lottery picks either, unless the pick is way down the road.
The Clippers weren't dumping contracts. They wanted Davis. The Cavs took draft picks. I don't believe the Griz were either.
