if you think someone is taking Tim Hardaway or Alan Crabbe for a 2nd rounder i just dont know what to say.

Just think about it logically--- Hardaway, AFTER htis year still has like 36M left on his deal- you can buy a 2nd round pick for like 2-3M. at the TOP of the 2nd round.

We've talked about this in the past. Teams aren't as keen on salary dump deal as they were in the past. Thus expiring contracts aren't as valuable as they were in the past.

The Lakers dumped Mozgov. It cost them D'angelo Russell but they got Brook Lopez AND Kyle Kuzma in return.

I have a hard time seeing Sean Marks being willing to give up a lottery pick given that the Nets haven't had their 1st round pick in 4 years.

Tim Hardaway is overpaid. But it's not like he's Lu Deng. He's scoring 22 ppg. There are plenty of teams that would find him useful. Crabbe has one year left on his contract after this year. There are PLENTY of teams that would take him on for one year even at 18 million a year. Suggesting that they would need to give up a lottery pick to get rid of him is not realistic. Hell they could stretch him if they wanted to. But Crabbe is also a useful player, albeit at too high a price.

In order to take a player like Crabbe or Hardaway or GAllo- the price is AT LEAST a mid first rounder--- as i said- the Lakers had to trade Russell to get off of Mozgov--- the Clips had to trade a lotto pick to get off Davis---- the Kings had to trade a lotto pick to get off of Thompson/Landry.

Just think about Luol Deng with the Lakers- they were begging teams to take him and no one would- it costs a LOT more than a 2nd rounder or two to get off of that salary

shit dude- the Cavs just got 2 2nd rounders for ancient Kyle Korver. If the Clips tried to get off of Gallo it would be AT LEAST SGA and prob more.

Deng was playing NBA2K for the Lakers. He had NO value so the Lakers were literally looking to dump pure salary there.

Gallo's contract is pretty bad but, again, it has one year left. If the Clippers traded SGA away just to get out from under that contract, Winger would be run out of town.

Perhaps, if one of those teams thought they had a very real chance of getting a 2nd max player, they would trade a protected 1st. But no way are the Knicks dumping Knox or the Clips dumping SGA. Just not happening.

@Bolts Starting to think your Kings made a mistake by selecting Bagley. Not because he is bad or anything but Doncic looks legit

if its the difference between them being able to pair 2 max players together- and sell the 2 of them to go there- they absolutely will smile to let go of SGA or Knox.
if Leonard and Kemba- say lets team up in LAC- but the Clips need to get rid of Gallos contract to make it feasbiel -they will GLADLY part with SGA to make it happen.

Same with the Nets, same withKnicks, etc.

Fox and possibly Buddy wouldn't be having as good of seasons with Luka because he really needs the ball in his hands, but the play making with Fox/Luka/Bogdan would be great. Bagley also doesn't get the same chances on offense or play as many minutes, their points per 36min and PER are both close. If I had to take one or the other right now I would rather have Doncic, but Bagley has a lot of potential and will get more chances to show it as the season goes on and in future years. It's tough seeing Luka's highlights knowing the Kings passed on him, but the draft class in general looks great and could be one of the best ever.

if, at this EXTREMELY early juncture, the 2018 draft was to be redone- id go like this:

1. Doncic
2. JJJ
3. Ayton
4. Young
5/6. Bagley/Bamba (Bagley has been better but I like Bamba more long term)
7. Sexton
8. Mikal Bridges
9. Miles Bridges
10. Carter
11. SGA

I and a lot of Miami fans are more than okay with it. Yes, it speaks on Richt's ability to recruit as the ship is taking on proverbial water. However, Max Johnson's HS stats are god awful. We had a QB (Artur Sitkowski) committed last cycle whom had similar stats, and he's done god awful for Rutgers. Plus, we're dealing with nepotism as QB play has been poor during Richt's tenure and his kid was made the QB coach with zero experience going into the job. This was actually a blessing in disguise as his nephew being brought into the fold would've done far more harm than good.

I've heard a couple of folks mention that USC should try to hire Kingsbury, but haven't heard of any contact by USC.

But, I sure as hell hope they're smart enough that he was/is the first call.

If I'm Helton and Swann...I'm calling him and saying "We have a contract here with the dollar amount left blank. How about you come here fill that in with whatever it's going to cost and sign it?" lol

Coaching is the first thing that matters in football. Kingsbury checks off offense and more importantly QB development. He'd be a grand slam hire.

There are reports now that USC and Kingsbury have "an agreement in principle", but nothing is signed yet because he's considering a couple of other offers as well.

Looks like they were at least smart enough to make him their first call.

@bksballer89

I'm finally caught up with This is us.

Where to begin......

I figured that's who the " her "was.

I was going to riot when I thought it was Beth.

Speaking of Beth, Lol @ Randle on the sofa.

The Tess moment was beautiful. That's how parents should react, even if its something we don't agree with.

Nicky is alive....

Um, what?

Not surprising. The college football spread systems have made their way into the NFL. Kingsbury is one of those guys that introduced the system. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those teams are NFL teams.

From what's being reported, they are. As you mentioned, college offenses are big in the NFL now, so he's wanted for his knowledge of them.

Really hoping USC locks down the campus and doesn't let him leave without signing. lol

First off you are creating a very specific scenario in which one of these teams signs 2 max players. That, in itself, is unlikely. But let's assume that happens. Let's say that the Knicks sign KD and Kawhi.

They need to get off of the Hardaway deal. What happens next? Do you think they just go to the Cavs, hat in hand, and plead with them to take Crabbe and give them whatever they want? Or do you think that they go to the Cavs, Suns, Mavs, Hawks, and any other team that will talk and see what it will take to do that.

Are you suggesting that none of those teams will want anything less than Kevin Knox? That seems very unlikely to me.

Perhaps @Mecca can say otherwise but I don't think there is a chance in hell that the Clippers would even THINK of trading SGA. He has been one of the best rookies of this draft class and a big reason why they are playing as well as they are.

Teams simply don't give up quality rookie contracts and they certainly won't do it just to dump salary.

I think you are trying to create a very rosy picture here for the Cavs that isn't in line with reality.

The Cavs may be willing to take on some crappy contracts but they aren't likely to get a franchise changing haul from it.

The Clippers aren't trading SG-A in a salary dump.

That's ridiculous.

They can get two max deals without trading Shai.

They'd part with Harrell, Williams before Shai.

I'm wondering if Jack knew Nicky never died and decided to not inform his family due to the poor relationship they had

It also seems like Randle and Beth are over based on the clip.

2nd half of the season should be fun because I'm sure there will be an eventual meeting with Kevin and Nicky
