Do you have your 1st rounder?
this year the Heat do...i think its next year they owe an unprotected pick for Dragic.

This is supposedly a weak draft depth wise.....not even comparable to last year.

At the top there are 3 studs supposedly- the 3 Duke players- and usually a guy or two establishes himself during the season.

I will GUESS this is a 5 player draft at the top.

I'd still prefer to be the Heat.....your Cavs are a fucking dumpster fire.

*Prepare for a 2k essay on why he likes the Cavs over the Heat*

Whiteside and Dragic are better than any player on the Cavs.
1st. Kevin Love ring a bell? lol

2nd- Whiteside and Dragic arent even the Heat's best player- Richardson is.

Third- I wouldnt trade Sexton for anyone on the Heat in a straight up deal.

Fourth- Whiteside is trash

Fifth- Dragic is getting up there and he is a FA at the end of the year

Last but not least- the WORST place to be in the NBA is the middle- which is where the Heat are TRYING to be.- and also kinda where the Lakers are. lol.

Forgot about Richardson.

Another player on Miami better than any player on Cleveland.

I don't think they're trying to be anything. Most contracts are off the books at the end of next season. There's obviously a plan in place to start doing something at that point. Having a top 10 pick this season and next year will be great IMO.

You continue to act like these guys signed lifetime contracts with the Heat. The contracts sucks for the most part but the Heat were never going to win anything from 2015-2020 anyway so it is not the end of the world. There is a end in sight

Jerry West has the Clippers headed in the right direction even if they fade a bit over the next 63 games......

2021. They have their own first round pick the next 2 seasons which is good especially if they're bad enough to get a top 10 pick in both years.

it just never made sense to me- Riley signing all those solid but not great players to lucrative long term deals--- Olnyk, Waiters, Johnson, Johnson, etc.

Plus- as i have said- I would never give a center with Whitesides skill set such a huge % of the cap- it just handcuffs the rest of the team- i think i have been vindicated on that one.

At least you guys have Richardson under contract relatively cheap for the long term, Bam looks like a good fit in todays NBA, Winslow still has some upside....other htan that- like you said- id clear the decks and start over and take a ton year for this season and next.

If the Heat somehow got a top 3 pick this year and got a Reddish or Barret or Zion it would help immensely long term.

LeBron James takes control of the Lakers

Just as i said- and anyone with any sense said--- LeBron is back to controlling the ball and playing the point. Anyone who thought LeBron was just going to switch up his game and play off the ball were kidding themselves:

"Advance scouts who have been tracking the Lakers report that Ball frequently becomes an off guard when James is in the game with him. It's enough to wonder if this arrangement is truly their destiny of playing together in the future, especially if Ball is able to improve his outside shooting and show a willingness to drive the ball, as he has in recent games. Though Ball suffered a sprained ankle Tuesday, which may slow him down temporarily and add even more ball-handling duty for James in the near term.

This is probably because having the ball and controlling the offense is the way James has been conditioned to play for most of the past 15 seasons. He has won MVPs and titles operating as the de facto point guard. That's who he is, even if it has a tendency to mentally and physically exhaust him at times.

James grumbled to Cavs management about the need to have more playmakers on the roster to ease this burden in recent years. It wasn't that the Cavs coaches and front office ignored him -- it was just that all their data showed they were better when James was the primary playmaker. They were sorry/not sorry about not taking the ball from him.

The scouts also have noticed that when James is running the point, he rarely looks toward the bench to receive playcalls from coach Luke Walton. Even when he has seen them, the scouts say, he ignores them and runs the play he prefers. Walton has adjusted, and now when James is running the show, Walton will typically just let him call the game. This probably shouldn't be considered a slight -- it's just James being James."
Lol @ ignoring Luke's plays.

But, no surprise here.

He is essentially a coach on the floor.

He has earned the right to have a longer leash.
