My problem with Riley is that he gave a ton of mediocre players a ton of long term shitty contracts.

Love is a 5X all star.
Love doesn't have a max deal...and he's 4 years younger than CP3.So is John Wall. Want his max contract, even before the injury? How about Chris Paul's?

4 years $120M - 30M/year - 31M max for a year
4 years $169M - 42M/year - 46M max for a year
4 years $159M - 40M/year - 44M max for a year
Which one doesn't fit?
LOL Kevin Love is far from mediocre but I mean if you are championship caliber team for 4 years straight and are over the cap anyway, what does it matter?
If you are a borderline playoff team overpaying players that play limited minutes there is something seriously wrong. Yeah the Bosh contract jamming them up but still way over the cap regardless.
Love's contract - not the best
Whiteside's contact - one of the worst in the NBA
Big difference.
PROB wouldnt be ripping on Riley's signings if the guys he signed were major parts of going to 4 straight NBA Finals.....alas.....i suspect Olnyk, Johnson, Johnson, Waiters, Whiteside, etc. will not see the 2nd round of hte playoffs unless they buy a ticket.COUGHkevinlovetristanthompsonjrsmithCOUGH

Short term I take contract #3 because Paul just gives more than Love does right now. He is a high end 2 way guard when healthy, and IMO the heart of the Rockets team. Harden is clearly the best player, but CP3 is the most important player.
Long term I take Love's easily. But, he is signed for 1 more year than CP3 although for like 13 million less in 2022.
And if I had to take contract #2 I would consider cutting my testicles off with a blender to get it off the books.
Oh wait. That is my team. Nice work Ernie!

Deng and Mozgov were WORSE. lol.

definitely NOT a max.Spotrac has it listed as a max: Cleveland Cavaliers 2018-19 Salary Cap
I never said they were the same age, just that they were both bad contracts.

I mainly agree with this but CP3 get injured too often and seems like at the worst times. I mainly agree bc of Houston's core though. The move made sense bc of the Harden, CP3 and Capela trio but if CP3 is injured like he has been since he arrived than the contract looks bad when in reality it was the only move that made sense and makes them a championship contender.
