Clippers are going to the playoffs.

But, it will be a short stay.

No 1st rounder.

So, I'm rummaging the bargain bin for end of the 2nd round steals.

@tlance , @WiggyRuss, @CitySushi ....

Do you guys see Taco Fall...falling....to the mid/end of the 2nd round?

I'd take a flyer on him there.

My dream picks....

1. Caleb Martin Nevada

2. Taco Fall UCF

3. Carsen Edwards Purdue

4. Jalen Mcdaniels SDSU

I am super curious about Brian Bowen and Darius Bazely.

Did Klutch Shit the bed having Bazely sit out and work a
" internship" or are they trying to steer him to their destination of choice?

Taco Fall should be available. Last mock I saw had him at 51.

What about the Dawkins kid from UCF also?

Taco Fall will be an interesting player to watch.

Depending on how he does at the combine, he could rise. If he can show some ability to move laterally and that he has good hands, then a team could fall in love with him and draft him much earlier than where you are talking. he does seem to be gaining a bit of hype, but I have a hard time seeing him even being effective in a Boban role for at least a couple years.

Taco is going to struggle to guard in space and he does not have anywhere near the skill level Boban does. I believe his ceiling to be pretty low in the modern NBA for those reasons, and his floor is pretty much unplayable.

I think the most likely case is that Taco would be a wasted pick by whoever pulls the trigger.

Some of the others you mentioned are pretty intriguing though. I think Caleb Martin could be like a Matt Barnes type who develops into a really solid role player. He is a really tough kid. And I like Edwards too. Dude is a gamer with a lot of skill. I could see him being a pretty good backup PG.

Have not seen the others enough to comment there.

Yeah, I like him too.

Are we sure he won't stay for his Senior Season?

They have him as the last pick in the 2nd round.

I was torn between him and Martin.

Went Martin because we know he's entering the draft.

I love Martin.

His brother less so.

But, Caleb would be a fantastic get in the 50's.

I'm one of the few that actually likes KCP. But he drives me nucking futs. lol

He plays good defense and obviously, he can score.

The problem is, he is too inconsistent and streaky with his scoring. He'll have stretches offensively where it looks like he couldn't start for a bad high school JV team...

Then he has stretches like this where you can make a case for him being an all star caliber player.

There doesn't even seem to be anything that one can put their finger on as to the the reason either. It just seems to come and go with no real rhyme or reason.

True.

Lakers should not bring back KCP, Rondo nor Lance.

Why not combine all those character traits into one player and save yourself a ton of money?

Just sign Pat Beverley.

He may not be the playmaker Rondo was.

But, he plays lock down D, gets into people's heads and jerseys, and can get streaky hot from 3.

I agree to a point re: Taco.

One thing I will say about him though as compared to Boban is that he looks to be more athletic and moves better than Boban.

But I agree, he does not have Boban's skills offensively.

He is raw as hell, but there is talent and mobility there that can be worked with and developed if a team has patience.

I'd love to see the Lakers take a flyer on him. If for no other reason than it would give the fans "We want Taco's" chant a whole new meaning. lol

I liked what I saw from Dawkins.

Would want to see more of his games though. I got the feeling he was playing out of his mind against Duke.

LOL.

Yeah, he'd be solid for 10-12mpg as a rookie backup and eventually could see 18-20mpg IMO.

I agree. I really think that the only reason he was brought back was because he's a Klutch client. Hopefully, that will hold less sway this off-season.

If they do bring back any of the 3 you mentioned, KCP would be the one I'd want. But yeah, I'd rather bring in a guy like Beverley and just be done with all 3.

Is he more mobile than Boban?

Yes.

But so is the oak tree in my front yard.

Maybe he is a bit more mobile than I am giving him credit for, but UCF's defensive schemes kept him within 8 feet of the rim at all times. You can't get away with that anymore in the NBA.

I just don't think his theoretical upside is high enough to justify risking a pick on him. I would rather draft a more versatile player who fits the modern game, then maybe get Taco on the summer league team.

And if someone else wants to burn a pick on him, then let them.

I don't know about 10-12mpg as a rookie. I'm thinking more of him starting as a 2 way player. Let him get some run in G-League games, but also let him also let him spend some time on the NBA team to see how he responds.

Yeah, I totally disagree. No chance he is ready to play NBA minutes as a rookie.

Mo Bamba struggled to earn minutes as a rookie.

Taco has no offensive game whatsoever.

He's a good enough defensive player to get those mpg......offensively he's super raw so no more than that.....but I think he can play.
