thing is- at least for Thompson, his stats the year before lebron came were better, and the year after lebron left perked back up to those levels.

makes sense- i mean you take 28/8/8 off a team and there are just more stats to go around.

True. But he also likely has to work harder for what he gets because of no longer having Lebron.

Yeah...I get you post based on poster but find where I said defensive rebounding made Love a good defender.

I'll hang up and lsiten.
I already did that. I even bolded YOUR WORDS to help you out. It's up to you to read AND understand it.

Perhaps I read the tonality of your comment wrong. If so, my bad. Sounded like you were being dismissive.
Wasn't but I get what you were saying in your reply. I would bet if you asked an opposing coach about Love's defense, while it wouldn't be glowing I would bet it would be mostly positive.

Point was really the ones I hear most often praise Klay's D are so-called experts and fans.

This is something fascinating to think about. I honestly don't know. I do think that there would have been a completely different system the Cavs would have run. I think talent wins out, but my gut says Kerr would have found a way to I think utilize Kyrie and Kevin Love more.
Kerr had the 73-win Warriors in 2016 and lost FWIW. Of the 4 series, this was easily the closest they've been to being equal in talent.

You have to be an idiot to think that rebounding is playing defense, which is what you originally said. Don't try to act like you didn't clean it up when someone else brought up the point that it is a PIECE of defense.

Let's also not act like guys who are leading the league in rebounding are in the running for DOP in the league or that they are making any defensive team just based off that stat alone (as in where Love is, because it's been pointed out to you that Love is usually a defensive liability for his team). Goodness you just continue to beat your head against that brick wall when it comes to Love.
Anyone who read it knew it was meant that rebounding is a part of playing D. Probably why they call it DEFENSIVE rebounding. I'll reply to you like you are a 4-year-old in the future to help you out kiddo.

Probably true. I will agree while his stats went down some, playing with Lebron got him paid. Bringing in Love's 17-18 and 9-11 rebounds also took away from TT's #s.

Doubtful as I never said anything that a person with a grade school level reading ability would think meant defensive rebounding was anything more than part of love's defense...never said it made him a great defender. I'd look for proof, but I'm not one to look for something I know does not exist.

If you need help reading this and understanding please just ask.

Please tell me again a player must be a poor defender if there are "too many rebounds to be had."

That is priceless.

Yes but Kerr was also dealing with a health problem. It was one that was clearly debilitating. Let's put it this way, imo, there was a night and day coaching difference from Kerr in 2015 and 2016. 2015 could easily have been the fluke and 2016 could be truer to nature. But the creation of the the Warriors offensive juggernaut was started by Kerr.

When Kerr took over for the team Draymond was a bench player with no role. Klay had not made an all-star game. Steph had only been an all-star in the previous year for the first time. He took that bunch and elevated them. He created a system that turned Steph into a 2x MVP. He created a defensive switching scheme that allowed Draymond to use his full skillset and gained him a DPOY. Klay since has been a 5x Allstar.

There's credit to be had here.

No doubt he deserves some credit, just not sure others don't have the same success with that juggernaut. Opinion is they would. But, of course, cannot prove this.

So now we're supposed to assume what you meant by reading between the lines instead of reading what you actually wrote?? lol yea, ok.

we've got actual adults talking again, so when it's time for kiddie portion of the day I'll let you know. Be patient.

Probably a reason no one but you was confused by my comment, though.

I'm pretty sure you were the confused one, as multiple people had to point out to you that rebounding is NOT the only, nor is it the most important aspect of defense. lol

he was a nice pick.

A lot of people passed him up because of injury concerns but he has put those behind him and looks like a really good draft pick.

I really thought the Heat were going to take him- but they took Adebayo instead.

that 2017 draft keeps looking better and better.

obviously you have guys like tatum and fox and markenen and mitchell as the elite guys- but there are a ton of really useful guys in that draft

Collins is a really realy good player. JArret Allen, Giles, Kuzma, OG, whatever Lonzo Ball becomes, Bam is like a poor mans TT, I think that Isaac was very raw when he was drafted but still has some of the biggest upside in this draft.

to get Giles and Fox in that draft was pretty awesome for the Kings.
They could have had Fox and Mitchell, but felt confident enough with Buddy and Bogi to trade for 2 picks and get Giles later. The thought of a potential Fox/Mitchell backcourt sounds great but Buddy has had a really good season and despite being older can be a 20ppg guy for years. Giles staying healthy and continuing to improve would be big to go with the Fox/Buddy/Bagley trio. Even if they go out and sign a center to start next to Bagley he could come off the bench and do a lot like he is right now. He seems like a great guy and I want him to have a long career because the potential is definitely there.

He was always supposed to be a beast but injuries prevented it
Unfortunate that he's had those injuries but it did cause him to slide to the Kings at number 20, Giles would have probably been a top 3-5 pick without them.

Weren't you kind of arguing this way with Wamu about his take on Kevin Love vs Klay Thompson? He said something obvious and you got hung up on his word choices implying something that he obviously never meant to imply. You called that your favorite word ("gaffe").

Are you doing what Wamu did here? Maybe a bit of hypocrisy going on?

How about we start a thread called "three degrees of Kevin Love" and we see how we can steer the convo to Kevin Love

We can start with basketball players and work our way out to obscure topics
