The Dodgers should have offered more annually for a shorter period of time, say 5 or 6 years.

As of yesterday, they offered the same money annually over 5 or 6 years. They're considered the favorite to get him. Gonna be a matter of years vs. the team he supposedly wants to play for.

My post was in response to you saying Kyrie would have a far greater impact than Curry. You are clearly wrong otherwise he would be taken BEFORE Curry in any situation when picking to build a team.

It wasn't a possibilty because they were over the cap.

Even if it had been, you continually neglect the concept of fit between players. The GS system was a much better fit for KD than Cleveland would have been because of two ball movement.

Not saying Cleveland wouldn't have won, they would have. But you make it seem like it would have been better than current GS, and that is not an assumption I would make.

I wouldn't sweat it too much.

The bottom 3 teams all have a 14% chance of getting the No. 1 pick. Even No. 4, which the Knicks could theoretically climb up to, only drops down to 12.5%. No. 5 is almost certainly out of reach for the Knicks.

Granted there is one notable difference between No.1 and No. 4. The spread of spots you can wind up. The no. 1 team can at worst get the No. 5 spot. The No. 4 team could theoretically wind up with the No. 8 spot although that is very unlikely.

The no. 1 team has a 60% of getting the 4 or 5 spot.

The problem is, a couple more wins and they could end up dropping to 6th. Hopefully they stay in the top 3

I get many fans think Love is not that good and that's the point. They think 20-10 guys who can hit 3s grow on trees. If only he would rant and rave, accrue techs, kick guys in the nads as opposed to a quiet guy who is a team player.
