1. Really don't know how we can know anything re Ohtani landing spot and MLBPA has not got plan finalized so we shall see. We got Darvish once and lightning can strike twice.
2. FA pitching. Yes probably not upper tier minus a shot at Darvish. Article in LA today stating they think signing him is a long shot. If we can get a guy like Mikolas on e cheap then Darvish seems more realistic.
3. One year signings is not all bad if we do not contend this year and want to dump at the ASB

Bennie re Lucas rule 5 list. Thought it to be very interesting as not adding if we can let guys slip through gives them more time to develop. I hate to keep guys on unless you think they are legit MLB players on making.

Barring 60 day injury guys, the thought is to keep on,y guys we think are deserving of a 25 man spot this year.

Would love to see guys on this list that look VERY likely to make our roster this year. Most need more time it looks

Rosters declared this Monday So MILB movement begins there. MLBPA gonna rule re Ohtani I think Wednesday and the chase begins. But until winter meetings first week of December it might be quiet minute Astro fans patting themselves on their back.

on #3, without some quality starters we won't compete and who would want what we sign on 1 year deals. and we did trade them all we would get would be minor league fodder

At this point it seems likely we will be in a rebuild stage without regards to competing. Could be wrong on that but hardly see how we can with all the work that needs done. Another thing of concern is weather or not Gallo Maz and Odor will accomplish what seems to be expected of them. Lack of runs this year was terrible. I would like to see something being done in this area as well. Pitching alone won't make us contenders and that is all is being talked about but it's early and maybe we will hear soon.

Definitely not a time to commit to go all in this season. Yes how the youngsters improve is very key to our future.

Well if we picked up a one year contract and they exceeded MLB expectations and we are not competing come ASB then if we traded for pitching talent that may MLB ready a year from now then that could help our depth. We tried to do that with Yu but the centerpiece was Calhoun. 2 year deals may work as well. It may be unless our young guys catch fire these may bridge years for the next 2 seasons. Still as DT says anything is possible. Hope this translates.

still think Profar will be traded maybe to San Diego, Cincinnati or even Miami
