He's coming into his 4th year of being an above average QB while Prescott could be looking at a break out year just as easily as a sophomore slump. Too soon to claim him a franchise QB.
FWIW I made the tiers before I made the labels.

It also appears Im much higher on Jay Cutler than everyone else. This season needs to start already

I'm talking about

A Chiefs fan should know all about banking everything on a guy that has had one good year. Cough... Matt Cassel... cough.
You also have to leave room for the possibility that a rookie QB might get better. Its a tough balance but Dallas went from garbage to legit by basically just adding 2 players.

Cassel is way, way different. He inherited arguably the most talented offense of all time and then switched teams.

Yet, the Chiefs gave him $63 million with $28 million guaranteed. LOL. I miss the Pioli era.
You're trying really hard to make this about the Chiefs. We know the Pioli era was laughably incompetent and set the franchise back god knows how many years. Let's discuss Carr and Prescott though.

Hooray, I get to post it again for a 3rd time.

See the bold?

Then the Chiefs gave him $60 mil and that made me extremely happy.

I'm not. I'm making it about QBs having a good year not being franchise QBs because of the one good year. So I never stopped discussing this...
You say this, but your posts betray that thesis.

Moving on though- the conversation is about Dak Prescott and Derek Carr. Dak actually has superior stats in most categories to Carr despite popular belief and both having fairly stacked offenses. I am going to politely ask why you think Carr should be ahead of Prescott.

I'm not sure what to tell you other than there aren't many sure things at the QB spot in the NFL. I probably could've brought Matt Ryan down with the rest and merged my franchise QBs with the maybe maybe not tier which is what I almost did.

I just saw that you had Carr at #5. Wow. And you're an AFC West fan who has seen him play.

Thats interesting. You're definitely sold on his upside.

People can't give me the 'Show-Me' State logic and still rank Carr ahead of Wilson and Ryan. Wilson and Ryan have been places and won some serious games and are a couple of Pats plays away from being faces of the league.

Carr's career stats against KC and Denver are awful

No problem with 1,2,3....Although Rodgers had 3 yrs to sit and learn from Favre before stepping into a championship caliber team, and still only has 1 SB and 2 or 3 NFCCG'S to show for it.....
But #4 has to be Eli with his 2 SB wins over the dirtiest team in football....
Then #5 I give the edge to Wilson because he has 2 SB appearances and 1 win in his first 3 yrs in the league...
Then it's a pickem tie between Brees and Flacco.. Brees has been in the league like 5 yrs more than Joe and has 1 SB win also, so I don't know what the big hoorah is for him anyway....
Naturally I'm picking Flacco and that historic post season run as #6 and Brees at #7.....Cam at #8.
After that, none of them have won anything to be celebrated.....
So right now we have 7-8 top tier QB's and that's it my friends .....There are some good prospects but they have to prove it first, like everyone else !!!!

1.Brady
2.Rodgers
3.Ben
4.Eli
5.Wilson
6.Flacco
7.Brees
8. Cam only because he made it to a SB....

So I guess Kaep is also top 10 because of his SB appearance? Man, you gotta stretch to get Flacco up there, huh?

Gonna be interesting to see which way Matty Ice moves this season. Their schedule is tough, but he's got a good array of wideouts, now.

Kopasquat didn't even get there on his own, Alex Smith won the first 6 or 8 wins that yr before he was injured...Now he was a fluke, but name any of the qb's beyond where I have Joe at 6 that have more success in their first 5 yrs and has only been in the league 9 yrs or less !!!!

Besides Flacco, name a QB that has played 3 good games in his 9 year career and gets paid like a starter?????
