Completely disagree.
If Rogers shots are ON today, and they definitely are, then he should definitely hit sharper shots rather than "take the net out of play" as the dummy commentator said. Making sure to not miss in the net is playing into Nadal's hands and should only be done if you're A-game isn't with you. Fed has hid A game with him today. He is employing the right tactics. Missing in the net is fine. Shorter rallies are fine. I think today's tennis is pretty damn good.

I'm not sure how Fed's shot was 'on' during the second set. I'm not expecting them to play perfect, but the days when these two would go 5 sets, and be forced into tie breakers every set....is the type of match I was hoping.

I hope this goes 5 sets though. I think everyone wants more tennis.

Nadal breaks...

Maybe that's what seems so different about this match. The big breaks are coming really early in each set.

Man. This is starting to feel like every other time fed loses to Nadal. Later in the match Feds shots are just a few inches off and he can't convert critical moments.

Nadal with a tough backhand winner to keep the hold at 4-1 in the 4th.

Are you going for Fed?

I've never been able to choose between the two. In fact, I'm not sure what about either you could NOT like. I just hope all their matches goes to 5 sets.

I ALWAYS cheer for Fed. He is the most beautiful creature ever to grace the earth with imprint of his foot.

I don't think he can break here at 3-5 tho

That's fair, like I said, there is nothing NOT to love about either. Both seem extremely grateful for their talents and just so graceful.

As for the most beautiful, I'll still say that watching Nadal on clay is probably the most beautiful thing I've seen in tennis.

So, here we all agree Nadal has the advantage. What mitigates that is the Federer isn't really all that tired, and he is having a great day with his precision across all shots. If he can just recover that, he might just pull this out.

He needs to start slicing and dropping it more. Nadal is playing sooo far back.

Yup. Just like I said. He's going to go for shots and just miss them. Sad.

Also, he missed three very good first serves by an inch. Ugh. This doesn't look good for Fed
