Spurs lose, they're 7th or 8th. I don't imagine they'll win, and 7th seed is most likely. So, first round at Golden State. Without Kawhi, we get swept again.

With the way the Warriors are playing, I would think getting the 7th seed is probably your best shot. Definitely wouldn't be a sweep, imo.

I don't know how the scenarios are, but the Spurs can definitely take either of the Jazz or Blazers.

And they can beat the Blazers in 6.

My only argument here is how garbage the Spurs have been on the road this year. Countless double digit leads blown, countless games leading near the end of the game only to blow it, losing to several inferior teams when nearly healthy. They've just been awful. I don't know what it is. I don't give them one win on the road in the playoffs at this point.

He's a rebounding guard.

But, that last game it was obvious on a few plays.

I don't have a problem with it as long as it doesn't affect winning.

The Spurs did it to get David Robinson the scoring title one year.

I remember that. Didn't he drop like 70 in the last game of the season to clinch it?

If said this before, and the Warriors fans disagree....

But, I think somebody will have to go if they aren't winning Championships by the time Draymond's deal comes up.

I think it will be Dray, they think it will be Klay.

But, if they are winning, I think the Owners will pay.

But, time will tell....quicker if Klay refuses to give a discount.

I think you and Wiggy are both right.

I think that the Warriors will pay the money for as long as they can, as long as they are winning.

Is that 2 years? 3? Who knows? So, on that one, I think you and LAD are correct.

However, there is a point where ownership will say, "Okay, this is getting crazy and untenable." At that point, they will look to move guys via trade for younger, less expensive talent.

Again, will that be in 2 years? 3? :noidea:

I may be mistaken, but I think the Lakers have the richest tv deal in the NBA which allows them to worry less than other teams about the cap. But I think even they would only be willing to pay a huge tax for so long.

Fortunately for them, they're still a couple of years or so away from having to worry about it.

Agreed, and ownership has already made very clear they're willing to spend what it takes to build championship teams.

I'm not doubting that they've said that. But Lacob's net worth is around $1.5 billion while Guber's sitting at $800 million.

It's one thing saying, it's another doing. Personally, I've never really gotten too caught up in the whole salary thing. That's for ownership to worry about - fans are supposed to be enjoying the ride. When the Heat had the big 3, a radio personality started making fans worry, especially when Carnival Cruise lines (Micky Arison's source of income) was having all of these issues. He was asking if Micky would want to keep around the team.

Sure, successful owners treat the NBA as their hobby. But when luxury tax penalties come at around a third of your net worth; it's something that gives someone pause.

@WiggyRuss

Off topic, but if memory serves you are a Browns fan.

Aren't you a Browns fan too @Wamu?

Question: I'm starting to hear that the Browns are liking Josh Allen because he's big and can throw the ball a country mile. Some are saying they may take him over Sam Darnold.

What do you guys think? Smokescreen? Real interest in Allen? Who do you think they should take? Allen, Darnold or go in a different direction and take someone like Saquan Barkley?

Yep....I told them that earlier in the week.

Sounds like it's Allen and Barkley if he's there at #4.

My concern is whatever they do it'll be wrong. It's the Browns, they always screw up. But if they get it right w/ the # 1 & # 4 picks it could be the start of something good.

The problem with Allen is he's probably the least accurate of the top QB's...but that arm tho.

I think dropping to the Giants at #2 would be the best thing for Darnold. He could spend a couple of seasons learning under Eli and then take over when he retires.

Take him 1st overall? Crap, that'd be a shit show IMO.

I think they'll go QB at #1 and Chubb at #4.

The Browns brought in Carlos Hyde. I thought they might draft Barkley before Hyde was signed.
