Russell is really developing in Brooklyn......good trade for both teams.
He's developing on offense.

He is still developmentally delayed in decision making.

Russell would be better served if they move him to off guard.

Just because he can handle the rock, doesn't mean he should.

But, with Lin out.....I guess he's their best option.

I agree. Like Irving.....he is best suited to playing SG. But, the Nets needed payers and they got a nice young one. I hope he matures off the court.....

I didn't take it like that.

The Kid turned himself into a legitimate NBA player.

You should be high on him.

I love guys like him, Jonathon Simmons, Anthony Mason, Whiteside that worked their asses off and earned their spots in the league.

Shawn is a interesting comp.

I see him more as a Cleveland version of Delly, minus the rugby tactics.

I admit to not seeing him play a ton.

So, I could be off.....

That might be a better comparison. Delly is a better shooter it though

Kyrie doubling down on flat earth.

Just said that there is "no real picture of earth" and asked why we haven't been back to the moon since the 60s.

Nets did well under dire circumstances.

D'Lo can put the ball in the hoop.

But, he has to get that empty space between his ears right as well.

The Nets lost that game as soon as the put him in and took Dinwiddie out.

Not blaiming it all on Russell, Crabbe has been putrid , 35% shooting so far.

But, it's to early in the year for Dude's to already start taking shots at him.

Would agree if they didn't do it every year.

As much as it annoys me to say, Wiggy was correct about them flipping a switch, when it comes to Eastern Conference competition * Playoffs*.

So, They literally don't give a shit about playoff seeding.

Problem is, at their best, I think there are 3 or 4 Western teams that can beat them in the Finals.

* Warriors, Rockets, Spurs, Thunder *

I'd say 3. I have no faith in the Rockets whatsoever.

The STUPOR Bowl in Brooklyn was actually a hell of a game.

D'Lo and Booker put on a show.

Were they guarding each other? Pretty much a guarantee that their opposite number will have a good offensive game with those two.

Agree. When Luke moved him to the 2 spot last year, he really started playing much better.

lol

I wonder if the Cavs are glad they did that?
They should be. Melo is no C & doesn't play defense consistently nor does he rebound well for his size.

Take it a step further and consider what the Celtics are doing on defense this young season.

You can't tell me that the C's just have that much better defensive talent than the Lakers do... in fact, the C's were supposed to regress on that end without Bradley and Crowder.

Nor can you tell me it's a matter of youth and inexperience for the Lakers... the C's are working in a sh!t ton of 1st and 2nd year players into their rotation.

It comes down to effort on the defensive end... and that's where good coaching comes into play. Bottom line is: a good coach like Stevens demands and gets way more out of his guys than lesser coaches do.

Look to Kyrie Irving as exhibit A. Dude has been a notoriously bad and uncaring defender in the past... 7 games in for the C's, and folks are now starting to talk about his much improved effort on that end.
Honestly, I knew he had it in him. It's why I said the Cavs were the losers in that trade. No matter how hard IT tries on the defensive end he's ALWAYS going to be giving up at least 4-5 inches to the opposing guard. Hard to defend & make an impact often in that situation.

Kyrie has a great opportunity this season w/ the GH injury to prove to the league he's the player he thinks he is. To be a truly great player you have to do more than just fill up the stat sheets. He needs playoff success on his own for starters.
Jeez, he just got there. Give him some time to settle in.

Of the last 25 losses for the Cavs.... they had all 5 starters available for just 4 of those games.

No one talks about it, but Love, JR, & TT all missed stretches of games with injury during the 2nd half of last season. This season its IT and Rose.
Which makes many often wonder why they went after injury prone guys this past summer.
