I agree. Just as I was telling Laker fans in the off-season not to assume that Paul George will sign with them if he is a free agent, the Thunder shouldn't assume he's going to stay in OKC.

The Thunder performance in the playoffs will go a long way towards deciding where PG will end up.
They had to know this was a strong possibility when they decided not to trade for him * Lakers *.

This Dude is hell-a flaky.

So, who really knows.

Honestly, he needs to be on a Team with a true Alpha like Westbrook.

I like Paul.

But, he's not a #1 option like a Curry, Durant, LeBron, Harden, Brow type franchise player.

I don't even think he's in the Cp3, Westbrook, Giannis, Dame Lillard tier.

He's a ultra-good #2.

I know what you guys are saying and I agree. I do think the Thunder are the front runners though and I also think the Thunders winning streak before Roberson got hurt was the best team George has ever been on. I also think he loves playing with Westbrook. We will see but when he was first traded I didn’t have much hope at all of him staying. That’s not the case anymore, I think the Thunder have opened his eyes.

No doubt that OKC is the current frontrunner. But things have a way of changing overnight in the NBA. If they have another slump or don't perform to the level of their talent in the playoffs (or any number of other reasons), he may decide OKC isn't the spot for him.

I think whether he stays or goes will ultimately be decided by Westbrook. If Westbrook reverts back to his hero ball ways, then PG will understand why KD left and will probably leave too.

I could also see him doing the 2 year deal with opt out after 1 thing that seems to be becoming more popular. In fact, I could see him doing that regardless of where he signs. I think we may see a few guys (at least those who have options), doing the same.

Yeah. I've always thought of him as Scottie Pippen 2.0.

As for his comments when he was still with the Pacers, I think it was pretty clear that he wanted out of Indiana and was willing to do whatever was necessary to make that happen. I'm sure he would prefer to go to LA but a comfortable work environment goes a long way to deterring players from wanting to leave.

Yeah. The way the CBA is structured, once you leave your first team, the incentives for long term deals really fall off.

Honestly, I really wish the press would stop asking these guys these kinds of questions (or that the players would stop trying to answer). There's really no way for them to answer honestly.

If they say they are happy where they are and want to stay and then have things change and end up leaving. They look bad.

If they say they are gone at the end of the season. They risk wrecking any chemistry that has developed and are looking at getting booed by the home crowd for the rest of the season.

I'm sure that he's probably truly torn.

On the one hand, his current team is arguably the most talented he has ever played on and if they keep playing well together, they are very capable of pulling of an upset or 2 and making the finals.

On the other hand, LA is home and he's expressed a desire to come home to play. However, if he does that, he is joining a very young team who, while promising, is certainly not guaranteed to reach the level of the team he's currently on.

And reporters expect a definitive answer from him?

I just wouldn't base it on a Peter Vescey rumor. He hasn't exactly been money on his predictions lately.

Of course not, he’s not a complete idiot either though.

Reading the behind the scenes for how the George Hill trade played out doesn't make me feel better about the Kings.

What was the story?
Woj: Inside the 24 hours and three trades that changed the Cavs' season

It talks about how assistant GM Brandon Williams was the one on the phone during the discussions instead of the actual GM Vlade although Vlade still has decision-making power. While I'm happy they aren't letting Vlade get talked into another bad trade, how can you be a GM but rarely ever get on the phone for trades? And they basically wanted to toss a lottery pick away for nothing after picking up his option, but nobody wanted him.

Depends on what you call "decent"...

A young player with some potential along with a bag of magic beans. Not very likely considering a team would want to match salaries unless they get a great draft pick to go along with TT

What is Lebron's motivation for playing hard in January? To put on a show for some fat kid eating popcorn in the stands. To play with a broken midget in IT. To try to get that number one seed from the Celtic dynasty. Scoring comes easy for LeBron he could do it wearing one shoe while wearing an eye patch.

What is the difference between January & February? You're delusional.
