I question Lonzo's likelihood of becoming a star

Unorthodox shooting mechanics that are unlikely to translate well to the NBA, lack of elite athleticism. He has the tools to be a decent NBA player, maybe even making a couple All-Star games here and there. But I don't think he'll be a bona fide star at any point in his career.

Did you consider _ason Kidd, no J, a Star?

I did.

Lonzo is nowhere near that level defensively.

But, everything else is comparable to early years Kidd.

Jason's first year stats:

11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists

Lonzo stats:

11.5 points, 9.0 rebounds 9.0 assits

Jason Kidd had virtually the same strengths and weaknesses when he came into the league. He seemed to do okay.

You are wrong - while it is completely unorthodox, Luke Walton says he saw no need to change it. My opinion is that he knows more about the matter then any of us. Point guards can contribute in many ways, however and usually do without the need of being a terrific shooter. Naturally he needs to be a good shooter in order to be a threat. If he couldn't they would guard everyone one but him and let him jack up 25 shots a game. He's only played 4 games, and the Lakers are 2-2, that's almost good enough to be a playoff team if he were able to sustain it.

I am more excited about Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart then Lonzo Ball really. Heard so much about Lonzo, that I am expecting him to be good. The real difference this year is getting Kuzma and Hart. Kuzma so far has been really consistent and now Hart has earned more playing time. Luke Walton now has a problem as to how to give everyone minutes with the exception of Deng who is not in the rotation and a couple of others

Watching C's/Buck's tonight... haven't had a chance to watch Milwaukee too much in the past... but I'm really impressed with their defense. Length and more length everywhere... and pretty good hustle to go along with it.

I was looking at the 2013 draft class and I have to laugh at some of the guys that were picked ahead of Giannis.

Yeah, it's cheating after the fact.

The Cavs taking Bennett is obviously egregious.

But, Alex Len, Zeller, Mcelmore, Burke, Carter-Williams, Muhammad and Olynyk are pretty horrid as well.

Teams shit the bed on Gobert, McCollum, Adams too.

they've had length for years. Defense has always been decent, but they haven't been able to score these past few years.

Nice battle in Milwaukee between C's/Bucks tonight... a lot more effort on both sides than you typically see in the regular season. Heartening to see the C's get the W.

The offense wasn't always pretty on both sides... but I'll take the effort over pretty stuff any day.
