LeBron said something before the Nets game that was interesting and so far proving to be true.

The Cavs, defensively, do well when they are playing a team with stars --- a team that runs the offense through someone. AKA, Celtics, Bucks, Bulls.

Their defense has been awful against teams that are just moving the ball and not running through anyone - aka the Magic without Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton - and the Magic without DLo and Lin.

They're gonna have to figure that shit out cause the Warriors are the kings of not running the offense through anyone.

Haven't seen much of the Cavs this season. But from that quote, I'd say it's because Lebron is probably the one guarding the guy that the offense runs through. Can't do that against teams that don't run their offense through anyone.

They said they were keeping last I heard, but if Brooklyn continues to win plans could change quick. They can't wait too long like BK said.

I am not sure about the lottery, last I heard that rule hasn't been put into place yet but if it is it will affect this upcoming 2018 Draft.

I mean, if you think Brooklyn won't have a bottom 5 record in February, then yes, I guess they need to make a move soon. But if you think Brooklyn will have a bottom 5 record in February then I don't think it matters when you trade it (other than the obvious fact that you'll be getting fewer games out of whatever player you trade for.)

Cleveland needed to make the move for Paul George or Jimmy Butler this past offseason. I don't see many players who will be available for trade that will make a big difference for them.

I'm guessing they won't have a bottom 5 record come February.

I think that will likely go to Kings, Suns, Knicks, Bulls, & Mavs probably

My take away from the first week of the NBA: Parity. Its just one week, but there's seems to be a lot more parity than expected.

None of the great teams are blowing anyone away with greatness (Except the Spurs maybe).

None of the bad teams look as awful as expected (except the Knicks maybe).

Looking at the remaining 3 games from these 6 games, the only lock win at the moment will be the knicks unless the cavs start playing better.

If the pattern holds true, It'll be the opposite... Knicks are a bad team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back... just like the Magic and Nets.

Agreed -- but I think the parity is an illusion. The really good teams aren't focused on winning every regular season game and some of the really good teams (OKC and Houston, for example) will have to go through an adjustment period because they've got some new star players. I think there may be greater parity between the lower tier playoff teams (5-8 seeds) and the high lottery teams (typically picking 8-14). But nothing that will really make a difference as far as who wins the championship.

Maybe this demonstrates it. Pick which teams are guaranteed to make/miss the playoffs of the following East teams:

Philadelphia, Orlando, Detroit, Miami, Indiana, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Atlanta

This is after we cut out the likely top 5 seeds in the East (Cleveland, Boston, Toronto, Washington, Milwaukee). I'd probably bet money that Brooklyn and Atlanta miss the playoffs and Miami makes the playoffs but I'm really not sure about any of the other teams.

The West is a little bit different but you could come up with a "grey area" where there are teams you don't feel confident in one way or the other.

Loved that Randle game saving block last night. Blocked OOB with the shot clock expiring...

I'm not sold on the Cavs having a clean trip to the Finals. I've been saying this for like 3 years so I could be wrong again but that team just doesn't impress me all that much.

Nba to predictable. Warriors will be fine. But only chance cavs lose is if Giannis can go supernova

The Cavs lost to the Nets last night. Sure it's early days yet but the Cavs losing to the Nets should never happen.

even the Spurs have looked pretty bad defensively, in my opinion.
