This is just a fancy way of saying their plan isn't going to work and they are trying to save face.

I disagree. I don't think it's about "saving face" at all. I think they have looked at the injuries (they seemed to have serious interest in Boogie) and PG saying that he's happy in OKC.

They are still going to try and make a run, but it looks like they are focusing on 2019 in case PG decides to stay in OKC and/or Lebron goes someplace else.

Lebron is leaving unless the Cavs somehow win a title and he ain't coming to LA by himself. I think that unless OKC gets embarrassed in the playoffs, PG will stay there. Because of those things and Boogies injury, developing a plan for 2019 is just being smart.

Honestly, why is Silver/The NBA fucking with Magic?

I'm not sure how what he said is different from Jason Kidd on every ESPN show talking about the comparison between himself and Lonzo.

So, this is odd.

Oh yeah," Johnson told ESPN when asked if he sees parallel between Antetokounmpo's play and his. "With his ball-handling skills and his passing ability. He plays above the rim; I never could do that. But in his understanding of the game, his basketball IQ, his creativity of shots for his teammates ... that's where we [have the] same thing. Can bring it down, make a pass, make a play.

"I'm just happy he's starting in the All-Star game because he deserves that. And he's going to be like an MVP, a champion. This dude, he's going to put Milwaukee on the map. And I think he's going to bring them a championship one day."

Yeah, I get the NBA fining the Lakers for his PG comments. His "wink wink" scenario of he and PG running into each other over the summer was tampering. It was "tampering lite" but still tampering, so that fine was deserved.

But fining him for saying Giannis is a great player and will do great things for his current team is pretty ridiculous. I mean, are team officials no longer allowed to say a great player is a great player unless he's on their team?

What happens if the Lakers play the Bucks and Luke is asked about Giannis? Is he not allowed to say he's a great player either?

You need defense to stand a chance vs GSW. YOU DO KNOW THIS RIGHT
Yep, that's why Boston is the biggest threat.

Should I be using ALL CAPS TOO?
