Great way to ARTICULATE your point.I get what you're putting down. But I feel like there's so many different criteria that factor in that no one is really consistent. If you're going from a numbers aspect, he doesn't deserve to make it. If you're going from a winning aspect, I think he has more than a solid argument seeing he's probably the second most important player on the Warriors behind Steph in terms of what the Warriors do.
I'm curious, if you put Draymond on to the Heat right now, do you think his numbers go up or down? Hard call for me. I can see an argument both ways.

That's easy for you to say when it didn't cost you 7-24 million dollars.First off, I think there's far too much crying about guys not making the cut. Clearly the AS break is geared towards wooing fans - which is why fans get to vote in starters. I have no problem with that - regardless of player stats.

I'm pretty sure selecting DPOY wasn't a mistake.
Probably goes up by a few more PPG assuming he would be our starting PF instead of JJ.
Coaches just need to be more consistent in what they're looking for when selecting the reserves. Drummond having a great season but when you see selections like Horford & Dray, it seems like team successs is being awarded but then you see someone like Drummond selected and wonder what's going on. His spot should have went to Brown or Dragic IMO.
If you want to truly award winning, no player on a team with a losing record should be selected as a reserve.
This is very true - I have no financial gain/loss on the line. That's easy for you to say when it didn't cost you 7-24 million dollars.
Luckily, they have remedied that in the current CBA.
I agree they should consider expanding the roster by a spot or two.
Anthony Davis misses out on $24 million after missing All-NBA team
Kyrie Irving lost $7-10 million by missing cut in All-Star voting
I don't think Horford and Draymond are on the same level, but maybe that's just me.
I think winning has always been factored in. They see players putting up big numbers on bad teams as empty stats. Monta Ellis had 3 years where he could have plausibly made the team based on numbers but was snubbed because the Warriors were just a bad team. So I get it.
Yeah, that's not what we are discussing.
My posts clearly states that all 4 Warriors and Horford deserve to be All stars, despite the false narrative about having bad stats.
Both Draymond and Horford would put up bigger numbers on lesser teams.
But, they sacrifice for the greater good of winning and that should be rewarded.
The point is, so should Dragic.
His stats are not better than Wall's.
But, his play and his team is.
Yet, the Wiz got 2 All-star spots and the Heat got none.
You can't say I'm rewarding winning by putting Horford in.
But, turn around and put in Beal and Wall over Dragic.
I'm not sure how this turned into a anti-Draymond conversation.
Devin Booker is example A.I don't think Horford and Draymond are on the same level, but maybe that's just me.

...and that's fair.I feel like Lowry should have been the one left off. His numbers are not that great that year and his play has been inconsistent at best. I think Dragic or Simmons should have gotten the spot instead. I would have went with Simmons because his numbers are more impactful on the Sixers success, imo.
Oh, yeah....Nikola Jokic too, but they're right in the 8th seed. He has some big numbers this year too.
Heck no.I don't think Horford and Draymond are on the same level, but maybe that's just me.
It's crazy. This is very true - I have no financial gain/loss on the line.
But there has to be a resolve.
Oh no, I'm not questioning your points. They are pretty clear. You didn't use Dray as the example of who shouldn't be selected as an AS. And that is my point.Yeah, that's not what we are discussing.

I don't even think Lowry should be the #2 option on a team, let alone be an AS.I feel like Lowry should have been the one left off. His numbers are not that great that year and his play has been inconsistent at best. I think Dragic or Simmons should have gotten the spot instead. Okay, my bad again....lolOh no, I'm not questioning your points. They are pretty clear. You didn't use Dray as the example of who shouldn't be selected as an AS. And that is my point.
