You also said they would have a very realistic chance against the Warriors.
With a healthy, useful (if only in a bench scorer capacity) Heyward... yeah, I'll stand by that.

The season series between these 2 teams would seem to confirm this... (as much as regular season match-ups can confirm anything about the playoffs, but it's the best info we got)

Sucker bet. Never bet against me when it comes to eating.

With the odds, I just couldn't resist taking a shot and hoping for the upset.

I'd have been vrich.

Regular season matchups can't do that though.

The reality is that those games mean a lot more to Boston than they do to GS. If they meet in the Finals, they will have equal footing in terms of what is at stake. That is when the cream tends to rise to the top.

I remember people saying their depth was going to be depleted when they got Heyward and Irving.
I distinctly remember getting more the a couple "funny" clicks when I suggested that the C's possess some of best best young/potential talent in the NBA earlier in the season:
  • Brown
  • Tatum
  • Rozier
  • Ojeleye
All look like they will be players in this league... with the top 2 having very high potential. Not bad at all.

It's the best evidence we have, as I said when I conceded it was imperfect evidence.

Again, Boston isn't the "better team"... especially on paper. That's not what I'm saying or suggesting. What I'm saying is they match-up well vs. Golden State. No one can defend Golden State better than Boston can.

What's wrong with Curry, Livingston?

I understand the ire at Durant and Dray.

But, the other guys are okay.

Everyone hates the frontrunner I guess...

Yeah I don't get it. The only players I dislike are KD, ZaZa, Dray, and West. Fine with the rest of their team

Not sure about that. Right now I don't think there's a team in the league that can beat the Warriors in a 7 game series. They are just better than everyone else.
They are in the same category as the Rockets.

They would give the Warriors a competitive series.

Maybe keep every game close.

Still get euthanized in 6 games or less.

No doubt about that. And I can see the Celtics getting outta the EC but I just can't see them pulling off the upset in the Finals.

Conceded... in fairness, though: the strength of Boston's bench is defense... just as defense is the strength of their whole team. Rozier, Smart, Theis, Ojeleye... these guys are all good defenders.

Which is part of the reason why a Heyward return might be such a big deal, potentially... (apart from the fact he is an allstar). The C's could really use some offensive pop off the bench.

It gives them hope that they can compete.

I'd rather have that over the Fragile psyche of the Toronto Raptors.

Do you remember that Shit Derozan said after the Cavs took them behind the woodshed.....AGAIN?

LeBron owns them, mentally, as hard as Draymond and the Warriors own Blake and the Clippers.

You can't have a defeated mentality before the jump ball.

Maybe they'll get Z-Bo if he and the Kings ever agree to a buyout
