For clarity's sake - if anyone cares - it was a ban on blacks receiving priesthood. It wasn't that way in the beginning, it started as an unspoken rule under Brigham Young and grew into a tradition that was strictly followed.

Took the church WAY too long to stop the racist practice (late 1970's). IMO, there's definitely still veins of racism among members of the church today as a direct result of it.
I'm not a religious person so didn't know any of this. The most I know is a little about catholics (from my mom) and christians (from my dad). Very enlightening though.

racist AND sexist actually...

not trying to start a religious debate, but a look into the personalities of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young would explain a lot...

Are the Suns really this bad, is it an off night on the road, or did the Pistons learn something about themselves in Boston?

Hate how bad the Heat are without Whiteside. Don't know if he's their best player but he is clearly the most important player. Hopefully he is back soon

We ain't that much better.

We're fine. Need to be healthy obviously. We had our 3 best wins within the last two weeks. We were starting to play good basketball actually. Schedule hasn't been favorable either.

I agree. But getting blown out by the Knicks.....that's rough.

I can't believe it took me this long to figure out why the Clippers Season went Tits up so early.

Usually, we reserve our extended hospital stays for the first round of the playoffs.

Also, Tristan to LA makes total sense now.

One big happy, cursed family.

Ps. Blake has no pride seriously dating this girl after Clarkson drop kicked her to the bricks.

When the Clippers finally come to their senses and blows it up, there are a few great spots that our tradeable pieces could land.

Lou Williams - Thunder, Cavs, Bucks.
All 3 need a floor spacer.
Deandre Jordan - Cavs, Bucks, Celtics
He'd be the piece that decides the eventual Eastern Conference Champion.
But, won't move the needle against the Warriors without more moves.
If the Cavs got both Jordan and Lou and King of the Fourth version of Isiah?
Shit would be a bit more interesting in the Finals.

But the Cavs are only looking to improve vs. the Warriors.
I really like DJ. But for the finals, I'm not sure he is much better vs. the Ws than TT.
Against almost any other team -- I'd take DJ.

I don't think the Cavs would look to Lou W unless IT won't be healthy.

Yep some of that too. I won't get into any of it here in the NBA thread anymore, but would be happy to talk in depth in a more appropriate thread.
