Agree with all that, but just sayin'.
I do think the Lakers might surprise a few and do better than expected though. Have you seen Kyle Kuzma? Look up his stats - He has averaged 15 points per game and 5 or so rebounds in 9 games. That is his first nine games ever as a rookie. If Lonzo Ball gets really consistent with his shooting, those two should be able to develop some really good chemistry.

This is the first time in 4 years that I’ve had any reason to be excited for something other than the draft. Gonna enjoy every second of it.
I hope that works out for you - It would really be good for the NBA to see them and a few other teams improve and be competitive. It would be exciting to see more than just one team in the Eastern Conference be capable of making it to the finals.

You know something though - In a strange way, that was my line of thought when I was arguing with some other Lakers fans who bought into the Jim Buss theory of the Lakers being a contender in three years. It takes a minimum of five years in my opinion because you only get so many draft picks each year and without good players free agents don't want to play for you. It takes time to build up assets and then in about three or four years, some one like Paul George wants to be traded and the team has to start all over again. I feel for you man - I really do

@Heatles84

How ‘bout them Canes?
Couple that with the Buckeyes getting blown and snd I’d call it a damn good Saturday.
Didn’t Wiggy say the Canes would never compete again?

Hahaha, yeah he did.

I know full well why the Canes haven't been relevant for a little over a decade - it's called the admin got cheap with coaching. Now that we've actually spent the money, you see the result. This rare time I wish that he was still on this board.

Good article on Boston's early season success, led by defense:

Length & athleticism fuel Boston’s defense-driven hot start | Red's Army

C's are actually scoring 5 fewer points a game as compared to last season. They are winning with defense and improved rebounding:
  • Aron Baynes has provided heft and toughness... big leap over Kelly Olynyk overall.
  • Jae Crowder was/is a limited athlete who can't jump. A mix of Brown and Tatum has been an upgrade overall.
  • No more weak link in the chain with IT out of the line-up.
C's can now defend and rebound as one team unit, and it shows.

They look really good. I really thought they would struggle defensively. Looks like I was wrong about that.

I was optimistic on the C's overall... but, yeah, I expected the D to struggle... especially at first.

Improved rebounding has been at least half of the turnaround. The C's were actually a pretty good defensive team last season... but too often gave up 2nd and 3rd shots to the opposition... which ruined the equation.

The toughness of Aron Baynes has been just what the doctor ordered, too.

Sound like an avi bet, even though Notre Dame certainly can win, and should be favored.

Im going for sure.

I'm down. Notre Dame will be the best team Miami faces all season long until they play Clemson in the ACC title game.

Should be a close one. I don't really trust ND in true road games even though they did dominate a damn good MSU team a few weeks ago. They didn't look that good against UNC and BC on the road for a half

Did the NBA fine Phil Jackson for his Melo comments?

I honestly can't remember.

If not, double standard much?

TWolves need to make the playoffs so the Kings can take the title for longest current playoff drought.

If the wolves don't make it this year. Contraction needs to be discussed.
