I heard Van Gundy talking about this yesterday.

He didn't actually say Lue was a imbecile.

Just that Stevens is mentally stimulating.

Yes, the implication was there when he said he craved it...like it was missing.

I got nothing against TY.

But, he only got the job because of LeBron.

....and how hard is it to draw up the play " give the ball to LeBron and go stand in a corner and wait"?
Tyrone Lue had never been a head coach in his entire life and could have just as easily been worse. He still took Cleveland to the finals and he took as much charge as possible with LeBron who it appears to me has worked with the coach. The season is barely 9 games, so I personally think it's premature to write off the Cav's already. Give them a chance is what I say. The Lakers did the same thing one year with Shaq and Kobe and went on to the finals where they got beat. I would agree though that if the same pattern exists after another ten games, then the Cavs are in deep trouble. For the record, I am not saying the Cavs have any chance of making it to the finals or beating the Warriors. I think for now, they just have to focus on winning more games and who knows, perhaps they can get a miracle trade or something.

Except in age.

Kidd 8 games in was 21-246
Ball 8 games in is 20-007

Nearly 2 years older, so Lonzo is way ahead of the curve IMO.
I think Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma is going to end up being the best combo on the Lakers if not the NBA. They played together in the summer league which was instrumental in Kuzma getting a spot, they connected really well and Kuzma has never struggled with his game unless the team was struggling and even then his numbers was better than I have seen from any rookie in the past not including Lonzo Ball.

He may earn his way as a starter, taking advantage of the Jr injury...

Are one of these guys on the outside? Junior or Randall?

Both can play Center when teams go small but I think I give Randal the edge there. Larry gets the consistency edge but that change with the Randall bench role. Maybe we see Brewer on the outs next year, only difference, Jr and JR have greater trade value IMO.

Kuzma started last night and personally I thought he should have been starting already. I like Larry Nance Jr and I am sorry he broke his hand, but in his third year is 10.6 points per game and 7.5 rebounds. Kuzma has already averaged 15.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 1 assist and that is in a total of nine games with him starting at a lower total and gradually building it up. Charles Barkley and Stephen A Smith(not that I like either one of these jokers) have already called him the best rookie on the Lakers. Last night 23 points and 13 rebounds by the Kuzma man - that's impressive to me even if it was just Brooklyn

On this note, I think that once Nance comes back and develops a bit more, I think the Julius Randle could be trade bait in order to dump Luol Deng. That's the only way I'd consider it. Then Kuzma moves in as the Starter and Nance as a reserve. The Lakers then for Center can go back to developing Zubac and they have Bogut as well. Other considerations to Hart, Clarkson and KCP. Ennis has earned some playing time as well

And I really liked Bryant in the G-League (I think he is still with the Lakers) at Center. He too is a good fit to run with these young guys and showed it in the Summer League.

Someone was complaining about running GSW system without a Green type player filling that role, this could be Bryant in a year or two...

If Zubac doesn't get his act together, maybe we do a roster switch a put Zu on the G-League and call up Bryant to see what he has to offer.

I get going small.

But, you can't have Porter at the 5 and Wall guarding LeBron and actually expect to win.

My shoulder would hurt too.

Agreed.

Yeah - I thought that was a good move - I think they should consider sending Zubac back to the summer league for another period and let him get some playing time. I do like him and I think he has potential of they will tap it, but Bryant has some potential and Hart has already earned more playing time since the Summer league. This is turning out to be a good start for Magic Johnson - Jim Buss but the way was seen with Jeanie a time or two and considered to be part of the Lakers organization since he still owns his percentage, so apparently they have learned to coexist without fighting. I sure wish I could get them to come to my house and teach my sister and brother that and get them to quit being assholes:lol:

Concede...lol

They aren't as bad as Atlanta, Chicago....hell even Dallas.

But...like In said earlier in the week.

D'Lo is a mental midget and they need to take the ball out of his hands.

He is a two.

I think those 4 teams are on very similar levels of bad along with the Kings. There is a pretty decent sized gap between those teams and the next tier, IMO.

IMO he lacks cojones to lead that team even without LBJ's approval. It was blatant when he gave Wade the starting position. Come on, anyone with eyes knew that was a total mistake, yet he did it anyway. And if what they say is true, it took Wade to go to him and ask for the change before he did anything about it. What kind of leader is that?

and again...

There is a very real reason to celebrate being bottom 5 in 2017-18.
Better than being middle of the pack and either swept in the 1st round or a shit lottery pick. Just hope the pick ends up top 3 or better.
