I just don't get starting DL players switching schools for 1 season. i could understand if Hughes was still here and they really hated him that much. I guess I understand Williams a little if he needs to be close to family, but if he wants a shot at NFL, seems like JP is the guy to learn from.

With this format, I'm not sure how the defense doesn't win, i mean TAs good for a couple of picks and DLs playcalling is good for a couple of 3&outs. I'm only partially joking. Ideally it would be an offensive blowout as the defense doesn't gain a lot of points without turnovers.

I'd probably stick in 1 pt for a TFL. and increase the value of a Defensive TD to 10 or even 12. but then again I'd also run this scoring format through some actual games and see what the results are before making any decisions and I'd hope someone on the football coaching staff was smart enough to do that.

How are they splitting the team? Will it be best on best, or a mix of the depth charts?

My understanding.

#1 Red O vs #2 White D
#1 Red D vs #2 White O

Hence only scoring for #1 Red O vs #2 White D. Weighted toward #2 White D having more opportunities to score.

Pretty sure the game is scored as Offense-Red Defense-White

R_A where did you hear that? I thought I read somewhere it was going to be good vs good, but a ton of substitution as the older guys don't really need to play as much as the youngers guys do.

oops this was meant for your first post about #1s vs #2s.

my expectation is that the #1 D and #1 O are going to roll out there in the first series. then #2 vs #2 on change of possession. not long after that you are going to start seeing #2 guys (like LBs that are basically as good as the #1s get some time with the 1s. etc) at that point #3s will start substituting into the #2s and so forth.

by the end there will probably be a hodge podge of "who wants to go in on this series?" alright, i highly doubt they are that disorganized, but it also wouldn't surprise me.

Ok, so.

#1 Red O vs #1 White D
#2 Red O vs #2 White D

??????

,

I was wrong again. No 1's and 2's. Just Reds on O and Whites on D. Substitute at will.

You are correct. I should have read Omaha.com. before running off at the mouth trying to decipher the format chart that was posted.

I like the format.

Time for some over analyzing and big expectations out of players who will likely do nothing on the field after a glorified practice!

I wonder what drama we get to read about tomorrow? Hopefully, none.

But there is Williams and McMullen. The recent Coach Yori dismissal.

Please, please, please, no one get hurt with a season ending injury.

Not even sure why they do some goofy scoring. Why make it complicated?

if I was a coach, I would play a game(shortened) to simulate game situations. Two 15 minute quarters, halftime, two fifteen minute quarters. Just don't stop the clock. Start at 1 PM, with a ten minute halftime, end it it 2:10 PM.
