With Clarkson and Foligno's God-awful contracts stuck on the books long-term, not to mention Johnson and Tyutin (should he not be moved) for another two years, I don't see how Columbus creates the space to improve without moving Hartnell. I think they'd be crazy to not do it now because Like you said I can't see his value ever getting any higher and his hit for 3 more years is a big ask.

I get that it's a long shot, just stating what I want to see.

If they can let go of Johnson and Tyutin plus Calvert and Atkinson And get decent bridges done with Jones and Jenner then they can ride it out. 4.75 for 3 more with Hartnell isn't awful by comparison.

Johnson and Tyutin won't be missed at all and Calvert and Atkinson will be replaced by Bkorkstrand and Milano. And Dubinsky's NMC pisses me off. I'd be fine moving him. We have Jenner. Jenner is better.

Just need a steady hand from Jarmo to weather the storm.

If my team won 4 Cups in 7 years I'd be fine with a decade of Oilerdom FFS. They aren't the Rangers, they haven't completely mortgaged their future with only one Final appearance to show for it.

No, but not all Oiler years since 1990 were bad and not it wasn't always their fault (small market Canadian teams as a whole were kinda fucked in the late 90s-early 00s).

But regardless, 25 years would get to me. Ten years I could bear, and even then a team would have to extra-extra try to be god-awful as long as that. There's a blue and white example of that just down the street from me.
