I know it won't happen, but I would love to see some GM offer sheet McDavid.
Yeah I gave up hoping to see it ever happen when Stamkos and Subban both got to RFA and nobody offer sheeted them.

Which is stupid, because there is no reason to not do so.

Pens doubling up on scouts at Leafs game. Brad Boyes is it, guys. And even that is not really necessary. STAY AWAY, EH?

Nice to see 'The Little Ball of Hate' still active in the game.

So of the two lists we have Devils and Leafs scouting one another's games. Hmm....

The only reason is risking really pissing off a GM who might have what you need later. But really, no reason.

Dear LA Kings,

Seriously, fuck off.

Love,
Columbus

Eh. It's a business. Get over it. It's the second-dumbest unwritten rule in sports.

Hey, on the bright side the only piece they may wind up interested in is Hartnell. I'm sure you'd like that, no?

No. I want Hartnell to retire a Blue Jacket and move to the front office when he's done.

He's a big reason kids like Murray, Jenner, Wennberg and Karlsson are adapting to the pro game (good mentor to have when so much of your team's fortunes is not here yet) and he is HUGE working with youth hockey here. I love Hartnell.

I get that his trade value will never be higher, but I also get that his true value is a bit outside his on ice performance.

Anyway, local rumor is that the Kings are looking at Tyutin. I am okay with that.

With Clarkson and Foligno's God-awful contracts stuck on the books long-term, not to mention Johnson and Tyutin (should he not be moved) for another two years, I don't see how Columbus creates the space to improve without moving Hartnell. I think they'd be crazy to not do it now because Like you said I can't see his value ever getting any higher and his hit for 3 more years is a big ask.
