Read a lot about Andrew Ladd's price being sky high. Not surprising, but the number of teams who would pay the price of a top prospect and a 1st rounder is probably pretty low right now.

Factor Stevie Y saying he's expecting to move Drouin by Monday and that it would take a similar package to get a guy you'll have control of for years rather than an impending UFA and it seems like Winnipeg is doing some wishful thinking here.

I feel like the number of teams who really need to make that kind of move is limited, and adding in the number comfortable spending that big on rental makes it lower. I can see Washington maybe doing something to go all in. That's about it.

Yup. I believe he is. Also I haven't checked up on Schultz and his stats for a few years but Edmonton fans have assured me that he'd soon be better than Erik Karlsson so it might be worth looking into. By now he's surely better.

Even the Caps, I think they're pretty happy with what they have in their top six. If anything, I could see them bringing in a bottom six centre because I really don't think Mike Richards is doing anything for them right now and Trotz has to be seeing that.

Joe Colborne is a bottom six centre and he's a shootout specialist which is very important come playoff time.

I agree, I don't think they need to or should, only reason I could see it is because they think they need to go all in because it's been such a solid year and playoff successes, et al.

I really dont know if Hamhuis will waive to go anywhere other than San Jose, LA or Anaheim (to play with the 2 former canuck, still d-bags) mostly because he is Mr Family Dan, Mr Community Dan, Mr Christian Dan and doesnt want to go that far from family or uproot them ... I guess maybe Chicago and Dallas have been the most interested in him sending multiple scouts to see him play

Botchford had an interesting thing the other day ... He will feel it if he chooses not to waive ... being from PG/Smithers ... Its not like a Sundin thing where he went back to Sweden the offseason after he didnt waive his NTC at the deadline ... Hamhuis will go home and he will hear it from the canucks fans in Prince George

Makes me wonder if canucks asked hamhuis to waive and he vetoed a trade to the caps (who were apparently sniffing around thanks to his past with trotz in nashville)

Hes a different guy ... I mean ... he IS the guy who's negotiating rights were traded twice and both trades were a waste you do have to question how much he wants to win
