Sorta similar but not really. The difference is KD a legit championship contending team in OKC and went to the best team, the favorite, 2 straight NBA Finals appearances and another MVP on the team. All those other players you or whoever named were on bad teams or average, Lebron made the Cavs a very good team, but he didn't have the players KD did. That is the huge difference.

But if the cavs did get KD it would be A ok

Dude, I understand that.

Did the Heat not go to the Finals the year Lebron left?

Correct me if I'm wrong. But, getting to the Finals is farther than getting to the conference Finals?

#Hypocrisy

Yeah and....he went to Cleveland a team that couldn't get close to playoffs with out him, not even close. I don't see the comparison, it's not like he went to the Spurs

It's laughable.

Why would a guy who wants to win go to a Team that is not as good as the one he's leaving?

People went HAM on Melo when he spurned the Bulls to take the money in New York.

Yep. It drives me crazy. Charles calls us overrated and all and we arent good enough, but then we make this move its unfair? Which one is it sir charles??

Not only that, he left a team that had gone to the finals 4 straight seasons and won twice.

Yeah because MJ didn't have 3 HOFers on his teams....oh wait, he did.
Who? They drafted MJ and Pippen. Rodman came later. Don't act like people joined like they do now. They use to join late in their careers to try and beat MJ.

Yep, the Cavs franchise is so well respected by everyone..:L

Every single person that covers the NBA uses the Heat as the example when describing how to do things right.

It's just the owner not the franchise, get it right lol. Nobody likes Gilbert, he controls things whether anybody likes it or not, but he hasn't been there forever

People would shut theree mouthes if it was the spurs or clips. But warriors its not ok

It would still be crappy, but not even close to the same level. The Clips are not a contender as currently constructed. The Spurs are on their last legs and need an infusion (not at SF though, the fit is poor with Durant). Neither of those teams was a basket or two from being called the best team in history and back-to-back champions. His team had those Warriors on the ropes down 3-1 and have already improved their roster with the Oladipo trade.

However, Durant doesn't want to work at it; he wants it to come easy. You have to expect some blowback if you take the easy way out and join the enemy. He would've gotten it with any playoff team to some level, but this is the worst possible choice if you can't take some heat.

Well first off that's impossible. Secondly, I doubt it would happen even if it could. And lastly Lebron and him aren't best friends :laugh3:

Yeah...It's not like the Cavs had any good players and they sure as hell didn't trade for any all-stars.

I'd say the KD situation was different to Lamarcus or even LeBron.

For Lamarcus, the Blazers were in a spot like the Grizz where they would keep making the playoffs but unlikely to pass OKC, GSW, and SA as true contenders. Also, I'm not so sure how legit the Spurs would have been as title contenders last year without him. They had won it all recently, but another year on their older bodies and the only prime star/superstar they had was Kawhi. Adding Lamarcus made it feel like they could top GSW, even if they lost in the second round.
Durant was on a team that should have made the finals but choked in game 6. They were still gonna be contenders had he returned, and had gotten better in the offseason imo. Instead he joins a team fresh off 73 wins and nearly a 2nd straight title, so instead of joining a team to make them legit contenders again(like Lamarcus in SA or LeBron in Miami) he is bandwagoning onto a clear favorite in order to get a ring. I understand West doing that, not a guy in his prime. It's his choice to do whatever the fuck he wants to do, but it just feels weak.

But how much longer does he have to wait? Its been 9 years with the thunder

Also, Barkley forced his team to trade him two separate times to better situations. Once to the 2 time defending champs. So go ahead and keep criticizing Sir Charles. You of all people should know about ring desperation for elite players.
