It would still be crappy, but not even close to the same level. The Clips are not a contender as currently constructed. The Spurs are on their last legs and need an infusion (not at SF though, the fit is poor with Durant). Neither of those teams was a basket or two from being called the best team in history and back-to-back champions. His team had those Warriors on the ropes down 3-1 and have already improved their roster with the Oladipo trade.

However, Durant doesn't want to work at it; he wants it to come easy. You have to expect some blowback if you take the easy way out and join the enemy. He would've gotten it with any playoff team to some level, but this is the worst possible choice if you can't take some heat.

So wait.....

It was cool to put Dwight Howard and Nash with Kobe and Pau......or even CP3?

This was before it was confirmed that Howard was a mental midget and Nash was....done.

That's not stacking the deck.

Oh...But, this is different?

Yeah...It's not like the Cavs had any good players and they sure as hell didn't trade for any all-stars.

Love. Remember, that average player everyone said should be traded and was overrated. The rest of the core was draft picks. J.R. was a blessing and out of the blue. That was the Knicks fault honestly.

....and he stacked the deck with Love.

Did you call Nash a frontrunner when he joined the Lakers?

Nash was at the end of his career and was not joining a championship team. If I was a Suns fan, I would absolutely hate the move.

I would argue that Lebron screwed up big time by getting Wiggins traded for Love.

Hearing talk of OKC trading Westbrook to Boston for Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley plus a draft pick. Good move?

That was like the Miami big 3, except half the star players were past their prime. Definitely not the same as what GSW did.

Man, Cleveland fans have some rosy glasses. Anyone calling JR a blessing...wow. Nobody wanted him last time he was a free agent and he came crawling back to take less money.

Not only that, he left a team that had gone to the finals 4 straight seasons and won twice.

Hey, hey....But, he went home.

I find it hilarious that one of the first calls he made when he decided to return was....LOVE.

Everyone knew it was gonna be a new Super Team.

But, let's just ignore that little tidbit.

As different as making a trade vs signing a free agent. Very different. The Lakers gave up draft picks galore along with players in both deals, and would've given up even more in a CP3 trade.

This isn't about stacking the deck. This is about joining your enemy because you can't beat them.

Love was an all star and the Lebron forced a trade for him. The fact that he isn't a good fit for the Cavs doesn't change the fact that they tried to stack the team by trading for an all star.

Lol at blaming the Knicks for JR. I'm sure the Cavs had no choice in the matter.
