Wow! I mean he's good, but $25m a year good?!?

Compared to the active market, 25M is a steal for him and his upside. Dude is going to be a walking triple double next year. The Bucks need a few more complimentary pieces but he is a cornerstone.

I get it. Just not used to these new salaries I guess. They probably could have gotten him a lot cheaper though.
Evan Turner got a 4 year 70M contract. Evan freaking Turner.
Allen Crabbe got 4 years 75M.
Chandler Parsons got 4 years 98M.
Harrison Barnes got 4 years 94M.
Giannis is easily worth 100M for 4 years based on that. I'd take him easily above Parsons and Barnes.
I think if anything, they saved money. Giannis was definitely worth a max contract, but he took below max to give the Bucks some wiggle room. This coming off-season if Giannis was a free agent, he would get multiple max offers from teams and likely be one of the most sought after free agents.
Just seems like a lot. Did he demand $100m or was that the first offer the Bucks made? Surely he would have accepted $80m for instance.

I mean, I can't speak for him, but I would imagine there would be 0 chance he would take an offer of 80M. You think he accepts less knowing that Harrison Barnes had a complete shit year and still got 94M over 4? There's no way he takes less than at least that starting point. I would imagine if negotiations were active and not just the Bucks offering, Giannis would be well within reason to ask for a max. Bucks probably countered upwards of 90 and they split the difference to get it done before the season started.
Lol...please.
Helping your Team and devaluing yourself are two different things.
What did all those huge pay cuts get Dirk?
Brian Windhorst: In contract talks Antetokounmpo expressed a willingness to take less than max to help Bucks retain talent. Took about $6M less than max.

$20m a year is devaluing for a 3rd year player? Give me a break.
Why should he take less?
Just because you have no idea how good the kid is, or could be, doesn't mean he's not worthy.
His numbers shit on Deng's and he got 72 mil.
#fail
When did I say I don't think it's not worthy? At his current deal he just got he'd be the 5th best paid player in the league. For a guy about to go in to his 4th year that's a lot is all i'm saying.
Why should that be good enough?
Owners are not taking a cut.
Cap gets a huge bump next Summer so he's not hurting their flexibility.
So again....
Why should he take 20 when his talent dictates that he gets more?
Ill wait...
