"I just want to let y'all know I'm re-signing back with the Cleveland Cavaliers, my hometown team," James said on Uninterrupted. "I can't be more excited than this opportunity once again, man, to defend our crown, defend our title. We all know last year as a magical, inspiring -- all the words you can come up with -- it was an unbelievable season. I just can't wait to get the group back together -- the team, the franchise, more importantly, get everybody together, the fans. Without you guys, without your passion and commitment, we wouldn't have been able to do what we did this past season. I'm ecstatic. I can't wait to see my guys. I can't wait to get back out there in the wine and gold and just get the band back together. Lastly, let's get J.R. (Smith) done. It's that time."

sounds like a guy with one foot out the door, lol.

Who said he was leaving this off-season after they won the title? Find me one person. I dare you

Cavs fans don't and shouldn't care.
Without James they revert back to garbage.
At least with James there's always hope.

They have no concept of an effective rebuild, because without James they are uncapable.
Do they have any cap space left in the next three years?

Opening night will be pretty dope..

First Joakim travels to his favorite city of CLE to watch the Cavs receive their rings

Then... we get Spurs Warriors. :thumb:

even on this board i dont think anyone would be dumb enough to think he wouldnt defend his title- although plenty of people suggested that now that he has won it in Cleveland it means he could leave.

Everything with James since '14 and moving forward is determined year by year.
As of today, there's no reason to leave, nobody said he was, so what's your point?

As far as JR, no surprise either. It was a done deal the day he hired Klutch.

We said winning allows him to leave unblemished.
Nobody even suggested he'd leave this summer.
The only thing that raised even the slightest question was if he was really putting his kids in L.A. schools.

Is that still impossible? He is likely a free agent again in 2018. As we seen in this league on several occasions absolutely anything is possible with free agency

oh sure its possible. I cant argue with you there. However, there is a large gulf in between "possible" and a "legitimate chance", let alone- "likely"

*glances back at last 2 pages of this thread*

:noidea:

The majority posts are by Cavs fans, with the rest of us saying "Yeah, so?"

Not a single person on this board has said he would sign elsewhere so why is this bigger news that the schedule release? We all knew this was coming.

I assumed it had opt outs, if not, then yes, I'd be wrong.

Depends on how the caps turnout.

Over the next 3 seasons, Cavs have $108, $105, & $97 mill locked up (primarily on Love, Kyrie, LeBron, and TT).

Projections point to the cap being 108-130, 109-132, & 114-139 over those seasons.

Doesn't like look there is one after the 1st year, from what we know so far... but there might be.

With the drop in the projection of next years cap... there might not be much incentive to opt out compared to what the early projection was showing.

Lebron contract is only 2.7 million more per year than mike conley lol
