Just saw the Messi free kick. Wow that just wasn't fair. Guy is unreal
Just got in. Not surprised by the result at all but we couldn't get shot off all night? Seriously
Seattle is growing fast at all levels. I work across the river from the Starfire sports complex that is home to the Sounders. They have more than a dozen outdoor fields and other training facilities. I often walk around that complex on lunch breaks and see some of the training by many of those under teams as well as the Sounders themselves. Yedlin is a product of their programs. Yeah, ok he's got flaws, but at least he shows there is some talent going through their system.I'm 29 and started playing when I was 5. I started playing club as a U8 in 2nd grade. Soccer was hugely popular in Cincy when I was growing up. We should be seeing guys by now who have been immersed in soccer since they began walking. I think the issue we're seeing is with development from about 14-20 years old. If you don't live in a city, your high school and club programs are probably trash, and the way college works really handcuffs the development of players who are good enough to play on the U20s, U23s, and the USMNT
That's a fair assessment. I did think the US was going to play better, that is the only aspect that stings this morning. Argentina was excellent, but the US was terrible.
Wood.
I know Euro is going on, but if we get an Argentina/Chile final in Copa, that's a WC caliber final
Granted they were missing 3 starters but that was a pathetic showing to be sure. I put about half of the blame on Beckerman for the first goal. He should have seen Lavessi slipping in behind him and switched his mark to him. That's a fair assessment. I did think the US was going to play better, that is the only aspect that stings this morning. Argentina was excellent, but the US was terrible.
