You can see Chile really missing Vidal in the midfield

Weak 2nd yellow on Sanchez for Colombia

Reffing sucked in this game. Very weak yellow card there. Colombia should also have had a direct penalty shot early in the second half also. Chile should have also had one later too..maybe a makeup call. You could see James was upset near the end when he got a yellow and mock clapped at the ref.

Couple things I got out of the USA's participation in the tournament.

John Brooks is finally becoming the defensive presence USMNT needed. His work with Cameron was terrific. He became what I had hoped Onyewu would.

Bobby Wood........nuff said.

Not having Wood hurt a lot. Hard to say if the team would've been less tentative with their starters available. Just beat Colombia and I'm happy. Also, no more Wondo or Beckerman ever.

yeah, Beckerman's too old to make it to another tournament and Wondo is and will always be a giant bag of hot garbage.

If Wondo is hot garbage internationally, but has been a prolific scorer in the MLS, what does that say about the MLS? I guess that is why I watch the European leagues and ignore the MLS.

MLS is no different than the old NASL which I did watch as a youth. I remember all the excitement when the Cosmos got Pele and Beckenbauer...albeit the Social Security versions of those two. I remember the San Jose Earthquakes got not only the drunk but the well aged version of George Best.

It says that the MLS has no "middle class". Did you watch any of the CONCACAF Champions League? Of the 8 teams in the quarters, 4 were MLS and 4 were La LigaX......all four Mexican teams advanced. MLS just isn't there yet, too many better leagues in Europe.

I didn't watch the CONCACAF Champions League. I watched many of the European Champions League games though depending on what channel they were on. Don't have FS2 on my cable and they have a lot of soccer games in Europe. I haven't seen FS2 on any cable system here in the Bay Area yet. Damn Comcast.

Got to love their goofy names too. Real Salt Lake and DC United. No one is ever going to confuse Real Salt Lake and Real Madrid. So what is Beckham's team gonna be in Miami? Bayern Miami ;)

No question about it. It is hard to take the MLS seriously when players from Europe and South America only come here at the end of their career. When we start getting these guys to come in the middle of their prime then the league will be much better
