As long as Brazil does not lay an egg tomorrow, there is absolutely no reason why we should lose to Peru or Ecuador in Seattle. I'm fully expecting us to play in the Semi Finals against Argentina on June 21st.

You gonna go?

It's Thursday and probably gonna be around a 4-5pm start. Gonna be tough to get over there, but I might pull the trigger on tix and take a half day at work.

I really want to go. USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!

Brooks was a god amongst men.

Yedlin was a dumbass

First half was meh. Not good, not bad. Second half was one hell of an effort to keep it 1-0 playing essentially the entire time with 10 men. Well done

Game time set for 6:30pm. Weather looks like it will be 70 degrees and slightly cloudy. Runner up from group B decided tomorrow will be opponent.

Seattle is going to be rocking this entire week. The stands will be packed for this one. Dempsey playing at home.

Sets up well.

Oh, I didn't even think about Dempsey playing at home.

Klinsmann's goal was to advance to the Copa Semifinals. I'm not big on these goals short of winning a tournament. Hell, Greece won the Eurocup 10+ years ago. That said, I will be impressed if this team advances to the semis.

Winning the group, pounding the hacks from Costa Rica, and beating Paragauy after playing an entire half a man down was impressive. I agree with the board sentiment - if Peru or Ecuador is the US opponent, they should advance. It will be a disappointment if they don't, another wasted opportunity for the program to break through a ceiling and reach a new challenge: playing a world class team in a major tournament.

As for the Paragauy game, great team performance.

Guzan - elevated his game and played great.
Brooks - he's the best player on the US squad and he's proving to be world class.
Yedlin - not ready for prime time and burned the team twice this tourney. They are winning in spite of him.

Losing to Peru or Ecuador in Seattle would be an epic fail

Gotta think we'll see one or two other changes too as Jurgen has stuck with the same lineup three games straight. Fatigue would be an issue you'd think. Maybe Nagbe and Beckerman in midfield?

But 5 days off is a decent rest for an international competition
