LeBron shredded them for 12 straight minutes.
Gobert was a total non factor down the stretch.
Correct?
In the 3rd he was having a dunk fest over Tristan, but that's not very impressive.
James saw it, like everyone else, and won the game by himself.

LOL- if every team LeBron shredded was a poor defensive team no one would be a good defensive team in teh history of the NBA.

3rd in defensive efficiency, 1st in points per game- and on track for 50 wins in the West?

if Gobert, Draymond and Kawhi Leonard arent in your top 3 for DPOY- you are just wrong. Ill guarantee you thats the voting in some order.

I think Kawhi gets it--- then I have no clue between Draymond and Gobert for 2nd- thats a coin flip as far asi am concerned.

They give up 96.3 PPG because of the slow pace they play at which is exactly why people prefer DEF EFF because it is PPG allowed per 100 possessions. Utah play at the slowest pace in the league so no surprise they give up the fewest points. Slower pace obviously means less possessions and less scoring

uptempo is definitely NOT their style...

And that's totally fine. You play to the style that fits you but I could really careless about the PPG they allow because a lot of that is due to their slow pace. Same reason why they're 28th in scoring but are actually 13th in OFF EFF.

I have no issue with the pace they play at because my Heat used to do it for many years but when speaking about statistics, you must take their slow pace into consideration and look deeper than PPG allowed.

Last year Whiteside was voted 1,2,or 3 on 51 ballots.
Gobert was voted 0 #1, and 11 times. 2 or 3, and I think maybe 1 of the votes was at 2.

Whatcha gonna counter that with?

I'll wait.

I don't watch every Utah game, but Gobert to me looks like he did last year when I do.
I know Whiteside has improved because I see every game.
His blocks being down is a good thing.

Anyway, if you're using DPOY as a guide, then how could you possibly rip Whiteside?
He was top 3 on 51 ballots.

If your going by stats, he was / is also the better player.

Funny thing about the east playoffs race. Any of bottom 3 can possibly pass the Hawks. Indy is only 2 losses behind, Milwaukee 3, and Detroit/Miami 4 losses behind.

Where is Gobert?
my bad- he should have been 4th tied with Dedmon

Gobert is 4th in the league at FG% at the rim
Gobert is 1st in the league in defensive plus minus
Gobert is 5th in the league in rebounds
Gobert is 1st in the league in blocks
His team is 3rd in the NBA in defensive efficiency, and 1st in points per game

plus the dude on the offensive end has the highest points-per-shot in the entire NBA. Gotta give credit to a kid who was a late first round pick who came in pretty unheralded from France. Only 24 years old too- hasnt even hit his prime yet.

Pretty unbelievable. I am not a fan of playing Favors with him though- you cant have 2 front court guys that just cant shoot- that doesnt help.....either one of them needs to learn a 15 footer- or the one who isnt going to be a DPOY candidate for years to come needs to get traded. lol.

Winning 50 games in the West is not easy- and there is no doubt this kid is the 2nd best player on that team after Heyward.

Also I really don't get why Doc would decide to rest Blake and DJ tonight? Does he not realize that OKC and Memphis are on their ass?

Unless the Clippers make a crazy comeback, OKC will be a half game behind them and Memphis just 1 game behind them. Clippers can be the 7th seed.

Mecca- gotta ask you- in what world- when LeBron James plays a back to back against the Los Angeles teams- is the Clippers game the National TV one, and the Lakers one isnt? lol.......now if THAT doesnt show you times have changed nothing will.

The odd Sunday night game.....Cavs - shit- pretty much never play Sunday night games- though- t.....id expect Bron Bron to sit that one out.

Nope they played last night but still this is not the time to rest anyone. Sorry but I'm not risking falling down to 7th and facing GS or SAS in round 1. I'll much rather go after 4th/stay 5th and play Utah.
