Tyler is going to be so much better in 2 years than he is now.
he is only 24- the same age as Kyrie- so i cant argue with improvement when you have not even hit your prime- though- ya never know- guys regress- your boy richardson went from shooting 46% from 3 last year which was amazing- and is down to an abysmal practically unusable 31% this year. You justn ever know.

He's been injured a lot. Has not been healthy all season long. Pretty sure all the leg issues he's been dealing with is hurting his shooting. He will be fine.

This is good news for the Cavs:

Sources: Cavs G Smith could return in 3 weeks

Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith, who is on target for a mid-March return, could take the court in as soon as three weeks in his comeback from a right thumb fracture, league sources told ESPN.

The sharpshooter is progressing well in his recovery from the injury that he sustained in late December, sources said. Barring an unforeseen setback, Smith will be back on the floor next month.

there was speculation at first he might not be ready until April. If he can get back on the court in mid March he should have a decent amount of time to get his act together.

Once JR and Shump come back- guys are really going to be fighting for playoff time.

That is some major depth on the wing with JR/Shump/Korver/Jefferson/Dwill ....a lot more then last years depth on the wing. I think that has been a calcuated move by the Cavs front office. THey really dont care much about a backup point guard as they do wing players that can switch and hit a 3 or make a play.

well, also , going from being a rookie backup that draws very little attention playing around vets like Dwade, Dragic, Deng, Bosh (until he got hurt), etc. is a lot different then starting and being a guy the defense cares about. I think he has gotten a reality check.

I think you're wrong. I watch Heat games and you don't. He still get a ton of open looks and he isn't exactly the focal point of the offense at all.

We shall see- time will tell. You also watched the Heat when i won the bet about their 3 pt shooting that you HIGHLY HIGHLY overestimated last year.

Ruin lottery pick how? You're a dumb fuck.

There's about 26-28 games left in the season. You're acting like the Heat are 8 games better than these teams. There's not a lot of really bad teams in the league.

There's probably about 3 teams who the Heat won't be catching in losses and those teams are Brooklyn, Phoenix, and the Lakers. Everyone else is pretty close. They're tied in losses with Portland and Sac then there are 2 losses or fewer separating them with NYK, Philly, Dallas, New Orleans, and Minnesota. You have no idea what you're talking about. I'm sure a top 5 pick is possible depending on how the rest of the season goes

And even if they don't get a top 5 pick, who cares? Now you're going to tell me how you can't find a star in positions 6-10 right?

I remember the last time the Heat were really deep in the lottery as well back in 2008. It was the year where nothing went right and I believe we won 18 games. Wade had shut it down halfway through the year to prep for the Olympics because of his knees. Iirc, the Bulls went 41-41 yet somehow ended up with the number 1 pick (Derrick Rose) and we got the number 2 pick.

That's when I knew the lotto system was shit.

Exactly we can easily be in the line for 7th or 8th pick and end up with a top 3 pick. This is why it is called a lottery lol

Yeah. Wiggy does his usual thing here trying to troll Heat fans. We had the worst record in '08 and ended up with the #2 pick. Bulls just missed the playoffs and got the #1. We could have the worst record and get the 7th pick, or miss the playoffs and get the #1. That's the reason it's a lotto system - because there's no sure guarantee that you're going to get the pick that you're supposed to get. It's all luck, how does one explain Cleveland getting 3 #1 picks in a 4-year time frame.

irrelevant? i taught you what a poison pill contract was! how can you say that is irrelevant? lol

I think the very first poison pill contract i can remember was Steve Hutchinson in the NFL- remember the former - i think he is a hall of fame- guard that left the Vikings for the Seahawks?--(then the bitter Vikings did the same thing in reverse for Nate Burleson- who was a WHOLE LOT crappier than an -a hall of fame caliber linemen like Hutchinson). Steve Hutchinson: Career Cap Hits and the "Poison Pill" Contract | Over the Cap

@trojanfan12 you are a seahawks fan right? is Hutchinson a HOF'er? i know he was amazing while he played.

Jeremy Lin was a poison pill contract, Omar Asik was a poison pill contract, Tyler Johnson....off the top of my head i cant remember any other ones in the NBA.

and obviously if Steve Hutchinson- an All-Pro lineman at the time was designated as a "poison pill" contract it has ZERO to do with production and 100% to do with how the deal is structured to make it a bitch for the home-team to match.

this is VERY VERY true.....even if you have the 12th slot in the lotto you still have a 0.7% chance at the #1 pick!!!!

to put it very honestly- i dont think the Heat have the good karma the Cavs had though....the Cavs had Nick Gilbert at the lotto- its like an automatic win.

I know what a poison pill contract is. Point is it is only poison pill if the player does not live up to expectations as Lin didn't do in Houston. If Houston got the NYK version of Lin then it wouldn't have been looked as a Poison Pill.

Lin & Asik did not live up to expectations and that was also in a different age of the NBA. In this new NBA, role players are making 16 and 17 mill annually.

Once again, why does it matter where the Heat are slotted on February 14th. There are 2 months left in the season. Since you're so sure the Heat would remain in 12th, let's make a bet. If they're not in 12th at the end of the year then you disappear from this thread for the playoffs?

God you're stupid.

wrong. it has zero to do with expectations and everything t odo with how the contract is structured.

Steve Hutchinson was the first poison pill contract htat i can remember and he was an All Pro at the time. It has ZERO to do with performance.

@WiggyRuss ...

When LeBron doesn't win the MVP award this year will you write a letter of protest to the league?
