I remember someone on here saying that they were going to be the shit this year. I knew they were a fluke.

Yep.
I remember that also.
Said a healthy Kidd-Gilchrist would be the missing piece.

Predetermined unless there's a major injury.

* Cavs 2014-15 *

Predetermined unless one of your core players decides to play hackysack with his opponents balls.

* Warriors 2015-16 *

Predetermined unless one Team just catches lightning in a bottle and overcomes the difference in talent.

* 2003-04 Pistons, Mavs 2010-11 *

Still gotta play the games.

Are any of these teams even close to the Giants running the table as a wild card and knocking off the 18-0 Patriots? As Larry asked when was the last time the NBA had a real deep run from a low seed? Dallas is your best argument but they were a three seed and title contenders in the past, not a total out of nowhere story. Give me an argument where Golden State, Cleveland or maybe San Antonio does not win the whole thing.

The best thing about rooting for a team with no expectations is that you're never mad, frustrated, or disappointed. I can't tell you the last time I been a little frustrated after a Heat L this year. Maybe game #2 vs Charlotte.
the Heat should have no expectations at all with that roster. All you guys did was ruin your lottery pick with that winning streak.

In June you will be kicking yourself that you thought a winning streak in January and February of the NBA season actually meant something and you will have to settle with a good but NOT great player in a year where the draft is loaded. I have read reports there are AT LEAST 6-7 guys that should be high impact guys in this draft.

Guys drafted in the top 5 become All Stars 36.4% of the time in the 11 NBA drafts from '03-'14. Guys drafted outside of the lotto become all stars 3.6% of the time. Thats a 1000% difference.

But at least you will have the memory of a 13 game win streak in a season that meant nothing.

I hope Love does not go to the ASG and just rests for the next week. If he didnt play until the season resumed after the break that would give him almost a full 2 weeks to rest up for the long stretch run through June.

These January and February games really do not mean a whole lot standings wise for the Cavs. They are important to continue to integrate Korver, get D. Williams going and integrated into the lineup- eventually/possibly get another guy who has been bought out into the mix.

I hate to jump the gun, but Williams is actually the type of guy that you can play against the Warriors. Channing Frye really is a bad matchup vs. them since the Warriors can go small and get him off the court. Williams is a good athlete and finisher and hopefully with excellent leadership like LeBron's, and for the first time in his career- a winning and positive situation- he will be able to add an element to the Cavs that was not previously there. Plus- Old Man Jefferson- hes clutch and knows how to play the game- but I want the Cavs to save him for the playoffs- and Williams will help them do that.

Does anyone have Pat Riley's address? I would love to send him a card thanking him for giving Williams his release when Williams asked get released and leave the Heat

Ruin lottery pick how? You're a dumb fuck.

There's about 26-28 games left in the season. You're acting like the Heat are 8 games better than these teams. There's not a lot of really bad teams in the league.

There's probably about 3 teams who the Heat won't be catching in losses and those teams are Brooklyn, Phoenix, and the Lakers. Everyone else is pretty close. They're tied in losses with Portland and Sac then there are 2 losses or fewer separating them with NYK, Philly, Dallas, New Orleans, and Minnesota. You have no idea what you're talking about. I'm sure a top 5 pick is possible depending on how the rest of the season goes

And even if they don't get a top 5 pick, who cares? Now you're going to tell me how you can't find a star in positions 6-10 right?

15 of the 24 All Stars this year were guys not selected in the top 5. Please cut the bullshit about how the Heat ruin their lottery pick with a 13 game win streak when there is a solid chance they still end up with a top 10 pick.

if the season ended today you would have the 12th pick. And you know as well as i do that this is a very important offseason- as its imperative they make their move in free agency before Johnsons poison pill contract jumps from 6 to 19---- and considering you still owe 2 first rounders that are very lightly protected to the Suns.

however- if you are losing to Orlando at home- pretty decent chance you will drop though- i do agree with you there.

Boston trades for Jimmy Butler, somehow upsets the Cavs, and Durant chokes his ass off in the Finals.....

thats the best i can do and that is certainly not likely.

Who cares where they would be if the season ends today? The season doesn't end today. There is another 2 months left of basketball. 2 weeks from now they can easily be at pick # 7. Your point is irrelevant. All of these teams are very close so draft position will continue to change throughout the season

Johnson contract is not a poison pill at all. It is a well deserved contract and he will only get even better next year. Nobody in basketball is complaining about Tyler Johnson contract. He is one of the best bench players in basketball. You should really watch more basketball and focus on the actual bad contracts signed last summer like Joakim Noah, Kent Bazemore, and etc.

Is Kent Bazemore contract good? Yes or no.

I'm sure you know more than everyone in the NBA though. You're a know it all. Why don't you try to be a GM for one of these teams

It's only a poison pill contract if Johnson plays like shit. If he can play like he has this season and improve, I have no issue with him making 18 or 19 mil yearly. The guy has improved his game every year he's been in the league.
no, its not....it has absolutely ZERO to do with how he plays. ZERO. It has everything to do with how its structured.

your boy Ira writes the same thing.

ASK IRA: Could Tyler Johnson blow up the Heat's salary cap?

glad i could help ya out though ;)
