And Tyler has been better than the contract he received. I'll tell you what. That Tyler contract look much much better than that 4 yr/72 ATL gave Bazemore

Yeah, well Tyler's contract looks like a complete ripoff compared to Mozgov and Deng's contracts with the Lakers.

:spit: Almost kept a straight face while typing that.

im just saying- since you wont be drafting in the top 5 - the chances of getting a centerpiece player are MINISCULE. You will have to get very very VERY lucky. And without one of those guys- you will never win anything.
Well the Cavs had how many #1 picks and still couldn't even make the playoffs- in the EAST? The exceptions are when they drafted LBJ & then when he went back after winning in Miami.

I don't hate him at all, but I don't quite believe everything said here.

Riley said he was told to go through the agent, so why would Wade be hurt that he didn't here from him?

I never heard Wade dispute that.

My GUESS is that Wade was more hurt by the Heat giving Whiteside a max, combined with the other crazy money that was being thrown around league wide.

What Wade wasn't considering was that he is 35, misses a ton of games, and the Heat offered him every nickle they had.

Being out to sea with LeBron prob wasn't favorable either.
I can only imagine the conversations on that boat.
I'm wondering if he's realizing the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Listen. I'd love a top 5 pick. But saying that making the playoffs will doom us for years to come is asinine. Especially when it's known that there have been many quality players (including all-stars) taken in the mid-1st round is just hilarious. Picking in the lottery doesn't guarantee you anything. That's why teams like the T-wolves, Suns, Kings, 76ers, etc. live there. I'll go with an organization that has a plan and vision as opposed to not knowing what they're doing.

If memory serves, about 20 years ago, the Lakers drafted a guy at #13 who was decent and was even all star a time or 2 in his career.

When I was young I used to laugh at the old guys who didn't like the NBA. Thought they were fools for missing out on the greatest athletes in the world. And while I still believe they are the greatest athletes I find myself one of those old guys. No I don't hate the NBA because "they only try in the last 2 minutes" as those idiots claimed. No I hate it because it stopped becoming a sport and turned into an exhibition a while ago.

The Golden State Warriors are the Harlem Globetrotters. While it is great entertainment let's not pretend for a minute that the final outcome at the end of the season is not already pre-determined. Give me one good reason why a Jazz or Celtics fan should have any hope what so ever that their team has an shot of advancing beyond the Conference Finals.

While the NFL routinely has worst to first place finishes, baseball had a team go from worst to a title and back down again as well as stories like the SF Giants who has won titles when nobody saw them as contenders. The NHL has 8 seeds not only advancing they actual win the whole thing. And of course March Madness can give you Butler in back to back Championship Games.

But the NBA? It's a 2-3 team league every year and everyone else is just going through the motions.

Predetermined unless there's a major injury.

* Cavs 2014-15 *

Predetermined unless one of your core players decides to play hackysack with his opponents balls.

* Warriors 2015-16 *

Predetermined unless one Team just catches lightning in a bottle and overcomes the difference in talent.

* 2003-04 Pistons, Mavs 2010-11 *

Still gotta play the games.

Unfortunately you are right. In both the NFL & MLB, a team can be a "boarderline playoff team" during the regular season -- and then win the title.

In the NBA -- when was the last time a team came from outside the "top 4" to win it ?

I'm not sure ... I think the Pistons (Rip, Rasheed,...) were one of the "top 4". Hakeem's teams might qualify. Before that, you may have to go back to the '70s.

Taking someone directly out of high school will always be more of a crap shoot than watching them 1-2 years in college. If not for one-and-done -- 2 years ago, Skip Labassiere might have been taken #1 in the draft. (would have definitely been top 5) Even after a bad year at Ky -- he was still a first round pick.

DENVER --(2/13) The Golden State Warriors will be without guards Klay Thompson and Shaun Livingston for their game Monday night against the Denver Nuggets.

Thompson is dealing with a sore right heel. Livingston is heading home for the birth of his daughter.

The Warriors already are missing center Zaza Pachulia (strained rotator cuff) and forward David West (left thumb).

Denver is banged up, too. Danilo Gallinari (strained groin), Kenneth Faried (ankle) and Darrell Arthur (knee) are all out. Emmanuel Mudiay (back) is doubtful and Wilson Chandler didn't go through the morning practice due to an illness.

In addition, Nuggets coach Michael Malone doesn't expect new acquisition Mason Plumlee to be available for the game. The Nuggets picked up the versatile center in a deal Sunday that sent Jusuf Nurkic to Portland.

Every time I see Jae Crowder I am forced to remember he was traded for Rondo.

Still bitter.
