Saric has been quietly excelling..... Illaysova too.

I love both of those guys. Saric could develop into a really valuable contributor. Ilyasova is probably the best player on the team, other than Embiid.

Dwill is kind of interesting though, as he is a 6'8" guy that can switch and guard multiple positions and finish at hte rim......

LeBron keeps asking for a backup point guard, -but the Cavs front office is prioritizing wing players (Korver, Dwill)- becuase they know who they have to matchup against down the road.

How far out can you trade a draft pick? I might consider taking the Cavs' first rounders in 2025 and 2027 for T.J. McConnell.

as Mecca said- i think the Cavs will be aggressive in the buy-out market- but there really isnt much on the trade market as far as backup pg's right now.

Saric definitely fits with where the NBA is going.

He is definitely an interesting player going forward.

Exactly. He's pretty terrible and we all know that. That's why I question Vucevic . . . can he be a starter on a good team? I just don't know. My gut says "no."

He can be a starter.

Just not the " STAR ".

Dude is the median point between Brook Lopez and Deandre Jordan....lol

An interesting fact is that Wade was never the highest paid player on the Heat. It seems like he would have been between Shaq & Lebron -- but it was guys like Jermaine O'Neal & Marion.

True. But that was Wades choice in some instances and, as others pointed out, because of trades where the Heat took on existing contracts in others.

To be completely fair to Wade, the Heat did lowball him with their initial offer before he left for the Bulls. But he has to understand that was business and they were wanting to try and add other pieces. But Wade decided to be butthurt instead.

On the last two tweets, I think Wade is more understanding why there's so much control in the Heat compared to an organization like the Bulls that really has no direction. As far as Bosh getting maxed, go look at your agent, bruh.

Because if you've got any scoring ability at all, it's easy to put up good numbers on a bad team. Just ask Michael Carter-Williams or Kris Humphries or Kevin Love. You get to a good team or even half decent team and things change. Nick Young has pretty much made a career out of it.

I disagree with that premise. On the one hand, it's true that if you're the best player on a bad team, you're going to get more minutes and more opportunities, therefore more points, etc. However, you also get more attention from opposing defenses because they know that you're the only one they have to stop or slow down.

When they move to a better team, their opportunities go down because there are other good players to share the workload.

In his 6 years with Minnesota, Kevin Love averaged 19.2 ppg, 12.2 rpg and 2.5 apg. In his 3 years with the Cavs he has averaged 17.1 ppg, 10.1 rpg and 2.2 apg...that is not a significant drop in production and is easily explained by the presence of Lebron and Kyrie. His eFG% which allows for the fact that a 3 point FG is worth 1 point more than a 2 point FG is .507 compared to .494 in Minny. His overall FG% is down, but his 3 point FG% is up.

Michael Carter-Williams ppg (16.0 to 12.4) , rpg (6.2 to 4.7) and apg (6.7 to 5.3) were all down in Milwaukee compared to Philly, but his FG% and eFG% were both up, so again, this would be explained by fewer opportunities because he had better players around him.

Kris Humphries numbers have fallen ever since he got Kardashianed and Nick Young has never really been on a good team. He's only been to the playoffs twice in his career and the last time was 6 years ago. So, we really don't know how he would do on a good team.

Young is taking 7 three's a game and hitting 41.8%. He is having a career year. Does that surprise me in a contract year? no.

his 2 years previous to this year were just atrocious. I mean, last year he was so bad so bad its not even funny to joke about how bad he was.....he was merely awful the year before that.

but he is playing well right now.

Many of his issues last year were because of Byron. His coaching style just didn't work because he really didn't communicate with his players. Nothing wrong with being "old school" or using "tough love," but you have to communicate to your players.

Last year, guys were benched and didn't know why. Young got himself into Byron's doghouse, never was told why and had no idea how to get out of it, so he just kind of gave up (for lack of a better term). He also played very well for D'Antoni prior to Byron which was why the Lakers gave him the contract they did.

Swagy isn't fooling anyone.....lol

I don't think he will be out of the league.

But, he better mentally prepare to sign for the minimum.

Kind of depends, imo. He played well for D'Antoni and was rewarded with a nice contract. Then, the Lakers brought in Byron who was a mess, couldn't communicate with his players and I don't think anyone knew what the hell the offense was supposed to be.

Now, the Lakers have Luke, who is pretty much the "anti-Byron" and he's thriving. Coincidentally (or not), it's also a contract year, just like it was when he played so well for D'Antoni.

So, I guess the question teams will have to answer is, were his good seasons because of the coach or the contract year? Were his bad seasons because of Byron? Or because he got paid and quit working?

You're insane.
No 'smart' Heat fan (meaning one that understands $$$) ever cared, once Wade wanted more than we had.

In addition,I've noticed that the others who did care, really don't anymore because of both teams results and direction they are headed.

I said it in July, and I'll say it again.
Moving forward giving me the upside of Tyler over Wade any day of the week.

that TJ contract really puts the Heat in kind of a dilemma

this summer he is only on the books for like 6 million....next year he is on the books for 19 million.

IT pretty much makes it imperative the Heat use their cap space this coming offseason unless they have plans of moving Dragic or Whiteside down the line. Especially considering that after next season Winslow will also be an RFA if i am not mistaken.

if the Heat dont make a free agent move this offseason- it will be very difficult going forward with Winslow and TJ's increases - unless they decide to move Whiteside or Dragic.

Of course i am biased because i dont like the Heat- but having 60M in cap space devoted to Dragic/Whiteside/Johnson seems not so great following doesnt seem great.....

however, those 3, and Winslow are the only ones that are likely to be under contract at tht point...say Winslow resigns at not-max type money, but solid, say like 16M a year ....thats 76 M between Dragic/Whiteside/Johnson/Winslow when they will be looking to compete. I just think that is very very mediocre.

looks like the Cavs traded Chris Anderson to the Hornets for the proverbial "2nd round pick" that has protections on it that make likely to never transfer + cash considerations.

basically Dan paying the Hornets to take Anderson. cool.

All right All Right All Right. Now lets just hope the right player drops in their laps post buy-out deadline. This should allow them to keep Williams while staying on the lookout for another player- whether that is a PG- or a big man like a Bogut or Varejao.

Cavaliers Trade Chris Andersen To Hornets To Lessen luxury Tax Bill

Because the Hornets are helping the Cavaliers relieve some of their immense luxury tax bill, Cleveland has included the aforementioned cash considerations in the Monday morning trade.

It is also worth noting that the protected second-round draft pick is a selection that the Cavaliers will likely never see.

Not really. Were we beating the Cavs with Wade? No. How are the Bulls doing with Wade? Shit.

An athlete's career is like a 20 oz. bottle of soda. The Heat damn near finished the bottle, the Bulls are getting the last of it with the backwash.

And Tyler has been better than the contract he received. I'll tell you what. That Tyler contract look much much better than that 4 yr/72 ATL gave Bazemore

Heat fans are long past Wade. We wish him well but leaving Miami for Chicago was not a smart move. He would have had a better overall team had he stayed in Miami. In Chicago, there is way too much pressure on him to play at a high level.

i just think its kind of weird though. i dunno

as soon as wade left - i would think the heat would go into rebuild--- and they pretty much did- and it looked like they were even going to maybe trade Dragic and really bottom out------- but now, it looks like, what? they are competing?

i just hate when teams are split in between.

I do have to say- it was a major bummer that Winslow got hurt in what would have been a nice year to develop him.

Its just unclear what hte Heat's strategy is right now to me--- is it to rebuild? or is it to try and get a playoff spot? Will they resign J. Johnson and Waiters and keep the team together? or let them go and trade Dragic who is on the wrong side of 30.

this offseason will have huge long term reprocussions considering the Heat sitll owe 2 first rounders to the Suns but do have their pick this year- and with Winslow and TJs increases, this offseason is the best year to jump into free agency.
