he said it AT LEAST once and it was in as big a way as he possibly could. by walking out the door to a guy who would.

Total nonsense.
James handpicked assets to join him in Miami, then did the same when he jumped ship.
It wasnt his fault, but was a big part of why the Heat were handcuffed to do any major type of upgrading.

Pretty similiar to Cavs situation now.

I said that last year and a certain Warrior fan took offense to it.

I was on your side with that one. The Warriors of last year joined the '07 Patriots. Had all-time great seasons, but failed to deliver a title. I'm sure if you ask Tom Brady right now, that '07 season ended up being an utter disaster.

becuase neither played in the playoffs last year and signing Mozgov would have resulted in ADDITIONAL 50M dollars AT LEAST and signing Delly would have been AT LEAST 30M

I mean- I dont think DAn G. minds dropping an extra 40-50 million here or there------- but if they signed Delly and Mozgov - make that deficit 130M just to keep 2 guys that didnt even help them beat the Warriors?

40-50M out of pocket expense on the Cavs?--- cool by him.....make that 130M to keep 2 guys that didnt help beat the Warriors? yaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....not gonna happen.

not gonna happen.

But I remember you blasted the Heat for not using their MLE on a player in 2014 that would've resulted in a heavy tax payment, when there really wasn't one available. So you want the Heat to use the money on a player that isn't worth it. But with the Cavs, it's okay that they didn't. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

And besides, no one cares if they don't play much during the playoffs. How about the regular season. No team rides 8-deep for the entire regular season. That's why you have 15 players on a team.

are you really criticizing Dan G's willingness to spend when he has the highest payroll in NBA history, and spent more in luxury tax in one year then Arison did in all 4 years he had LeBron combined?

Its Dan G's hobby....

he did do a wonderful job of riding the good-will generated from the Cavs to getting the Ohio Constitution amended so him and another party have a monopoloy on Casino's in Ohio (there are - i believe 4 allowed by the state constitution now- and Gilbert has control of 2 of them).

but ya---- this is Gilberts hobby. He doesnt give a flying fuck that he has the highest payroll in the history of the league and has spent in a way no one else will spend.

Yeah....that's owner talk. Arison, the same owner that you blast on the regular said the same thing.

Miami Heat owner Micky Arison: Owning a team ‘is a hobby of passion, it’s not a business.’

Just like you blast the Heat for amnestying Miller, who wasn't doing anything but costing the Heat a shit ton of money and using up bench space. Delly was at least a serviceable backup PG that wasn't injury prone. Delly could've given quality minutes and would've kept Lebron from bitching about NOT HAVING A BACKUP PG. We're aware that Gilbert's paying the highest luxury tax. He's forced into it and signed all his players to contracts outside of the big 3 that they wouldn't have gotten elsewhere - JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson. And Lebron also makes the max.

But this will probably go well over your head.

James and Bosh wanted that 6th year to their deals that caused us to trade all of our 1st round picks. Who knows what a couple of players would've done for the Heat. For the life of me, I still can't figure out what was the point of that.

I agree.
I could see it, but not if they wanted the or after 4 included.

Anyway, 17-2 start for Heat tonight.
Maybe Beasley saves the Bucks :noidea:

I'm surprised the cameras actually showed it. Usually they don't show the good stuff like that.

In the case of the Warriors I don't think their players would call that year a disaster. But I do think if they had to choose they would've rather have been champions vs. holding the best reg season record. I don't think their first accomplishment should be negated because they couldn't add the cherry on top.

I disagree. IMO, it makes not winning all the more of a failure. What's the point of setting the all-time regular season record than losing the Finals in the fashion that they did?

So then by your logic what is the point of handing out the MVP of the reg season if the recipient's team doesn't win the championship?

I believe there is a reason the records for reg season & post season are separate. Because they aren't one in the same. Would it have been nice if they had done both? Of course. But I think the standard of them winning both or risking the reg season record be for not is because MJ & the Bulls managed to do both.

But I just don't think it's fair to say the reg season means nothing because like it or not that is a record in the record books- and there's no asterisk beside it because they didn't win the title.
