Spo explained his reason for not having Hassan in on the final possession. Its exactly what I thought considering the Heat had 0 timeouts. He assumed like the rest of the world that CP3 would hit both free throws

“We had a three-point play designed,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra explained of why his 7-foot, 265-pound center was on the bench and not on the court to box out the 6-11, 265-pound Jordan. “I figured Chris Paul was going to knock in both of those. Even if he doesn’t, I figured we can get one rebound.

“Obviously, knowing now Chris Paul would miss, I probably would have had Hassan in the game. But it would have changed that last play. I wanted a lot of playmaking and to be able to get the best available three [-point shot at the end]. It’s tough when it comes down to that.”

The New NBA, Dude.

Isn't the new average salary gonna be 8-9 mil?
look at their roster though--- Tarik Black is listedat center but hes 6'9"

Larry Nance Jr.
Thomas Robinson

you just drafted Zubac.

its not like you are winning regardless this year...and you plug up 7M in cap space for next year- and all you really do is block Nance Jr., and Robinson ( a former top 5 pick if i am nost mistaken that is at least a little ingriguing) and possibly eventually Zubac for a guy who will no way ever be on the roster when the Lakers are back in contention.

thats 7M less in cap space you can use next summer- on a guy who- id rather play the young guys in front of anyway.

Yep, new contracts are going to make everyone gag but it's the new level.

Robinson is a good rebounder and brings energy but Tarik can do both those things just as well and he's much better offensively than Robinson. Black is a smart player and a solid role player.

And Zubac is 19 years old, he needs to fill out his body with some muscle, and is having foul trouble. Absolutely no complaints about letting him gain experience in the D-League. Even Clarkson started the first half of his rookie season with the D-Fenders.

Who do you see as the worst signing so far now that 1/3 of the Season is done?

Some might say Deng. But, I disagree.

Because if nothing else, he has stabilized the locker room.

Noah is a strong candidate, for obvious reasons.

But, what about Parsons who is forever gimp?

Turner and Bazemore, who aren't worth 1/2 of what they are getting paid.

Not to be picking on the Blazers. But, they just donated 6mil to Ezeli and should be PRAISING GOD that Chandler Parsons turned them down!

Toss up between Noah and Parsons. I'm leaning towards Parsons because he makes more money and we all knew Noah was already washed up. Kudos to those players though - they'll be raking in millions before they're retired.

They had a disaster of a free agency period. They need a defensive coach

I'm going Parsons because he didn't even earn his Mavs contract, let alone this one with the Griz.

Poor Marc Gasol.

Love their coach. Their GM sucks.

He was our GM before Doc...happened.

He did a pretty good job, sans giving the Kyrie Pick away.

He was fine in Portland until Aldridge fled.

He made the right call letting Matthews walk. But, shit the bed trading Batum for Vonleh.

Then this whole off-season has been one huge abortion.

So from what you just provided, he's slightly below average. Correct?

I would say, yes.

Drafting Dame, when he was not on anyone's radar that high , and taking CJ who was another tiny tot that could score and not much else , despite everyone saying it couldn't work, is all that keeps me from saying he has done a shit job altogether.

It's not from lack of trying, though.

We would be having a whole nother conversation if they had landed Whiteside.

Sadly for Oshley, and counter to Wiggy's thinking, Riley was not dumb enough to let that happen.

Good Lawd, we jinxed them!

Shams Charania: Vertical Sources: Portland center Festus Ezeli is likely to undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee. Finalizing procedure decision.
