Crazy thing about that series is I'm not sure if you remember but Miami were the better team for most of game 1 and probably would have won if he didn't have his period during the game. If they go on to win game 1 then it's probably a different series. Not saying we win the series but it is a 6 or 7 game series IMO
The thing I remember most about that series was that game in Miami where the Spurs had like the best 1st half in NBA Finals history

i dont think this is necesarily an indication that the Cavs are being lazy- i just think its an indication that they have had no contunity.

Yes and no. Defense is about 2 things...effort and communication.

Guys in and out of the lineup definitely hurts the communication, which then hurts the continuity. That is completely understandable and relatively easy to fix.

What isn't understandable and isn't easy to fix is the lack of effort on defense. I have seen little to no defensive effort from the Cavs and that includes Lebron.

Vs. the Lakers, there was one play in particular that seemed to show all of the Cavs defensive issues at once. The Lakers had the ball and the floor spread. They ran a very basic backdoor type of play to Ingram who was being guarded by Lebron. Ingram cut backdoor and Lebron followed at essentially half speed. Not only did Lebron not make much of an effort, but literally no one rotated over and Ingram got an easy reverse layup out of it. If Lebron follows at full speed, the pass isn't there to be made and if they try, Lebron likely intercepts it. If someone had rotated over, again, there's either no pass or Ingram has to take a challenged shot or pass it back out.

It's the lack of effort that should have Cavs fans alarmed.

Yep it was game 4. Just looked at the box score. They were up 71-50 at halftime and scored 41 in the first quarter.

Shot 76% in the first half. Just amazing

im just wondering how that effects the playoffs though?

Stop deflecting. Your prediction had nothing to do with the playoffs. It was about that game and that game only.

You claim that you always admit when you're wrong.

You were wrong.

Give credit where it's due and stfu.

Heatles, Turnup, & I are big Cavs fans tonight.

Charlotte need a few more losses so I can quit worrying about them.

Warriors beat the shit out of the Cavs last year- what did it mean in the playoffs? Orlando has owned Miami this year- does that make them better? would i pick Orlando in a playoff series against Miami? of course not.

forgive me if i dont attach much importance to a game where the CAvs didnt have Love,s mith (and i dont think theyh ad Korver either, did htey?) in March- against the Heat. You are right- great regular season win by the Heat. But i just think it has ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO relevance towards any playoff series.

Yet all that day you carried on about the extent of revenge the Cavs would get, and we even agreed on.
Fuck missing Love and JR.
Youre at home, just got pounded 2 nights earlier, and Heat was missing their 2 most important 2nd unit players.
Heat had played a ton of games that week, James and Kyrie were fresh, healthy, and pissed.

Cavs lost because they could not defend what they had just seen 48 hours earlier.

Latest mock draft got Miami selecting John Collins. If any of you watched ACC ball this year then you would know how good he is.

Man, that is just ridiculous

We lost game 3 by 2 points. If we win that game after stealing HCA in game 2 then we likely have another 7 game series between the two teams. Crazy how 1 game can totally change a series

Talent wise, they weren't. On paper, that Heat team was more talented.

Having said that, that performance the Spurs put on in that finals was the closest to perfect play that I remember seeing. And I watched my first finals in 1970.

It was absolute textbook on how you play the game. I remember that even Heat fans were in awe of what they were seeing. When people talk about teams "playing on another level," that's what they are talking about.

Couldn't even make fun of Lebron and the Heat for that one. It would have felt like taking something away from what the Spurs did.

They were still talented, but you're right - they weren't as talented as the Heat.

The bolded is why I think they're the best title team in the last decade. Especially with how they picked the Heat apart.

I remember at halftime, Danny Green was standing in the corner shooting 3's.
We said please at least miss one now.
He just laughed.
At that point we all knew it wasnt a matter of if, just when.

Yeah and it sucks that they hit their stride right when they made the Finals. Still not as bad as losing to the Mavs though. That one stung. I at least knew the Spurs were just the flat out better team.

Well... so were the Mavs. In 6.

Eh, game 2 of that series will always be the glaring game. Heat were up 20 on the Mavs and then we started show boating. Dirk came back like a monster and won. I will never forget that series. Miami clearly had the better team, but we (Lebron mostly) just choked.

you're not implying they get a li'l home cooking...

what if the Cavs were a first round exit, though...

They arent winning a game playing defense like this. They are 22nd in defensive efficiency, the Lakers were 19th in 00-01 and won the title. They won't get out of the 1st round playing that bad
